After the Earth got conquered by Aliens from The Galactic Federation, which wanted to make business on conquering our planet.
The Galactic Federation is a large confederation of planets and alien species living in peace, including those who conquered and enslaved the Earth and many, many more.
The Federation was founded to protect the interests of alien races and their citizens. It is also big military alliance which wages wars with species not included in Federation.

In the Federation, humans are not recognized as citizens, because they are officially considered as "lower form of life", thus not worthy of basic rights. Human intelligence is to low in Aliens opinion.
This means that humans cannot be citizens of the Federation and cannot own any planet in the Galaxy, and other races have the right to keep humans as livestock, breed them, enslave them, trade and even eat humans.

Humans early become sexually mature and fully functional, which makes them able to multiply quickly. By the age of 20 Earth years, they are fully grown.
Most of alien species need hundreds of Earth years to be fully grown and ready to reproduce. That's another argument why humans are considered as animals. (It is similar way like we look at and treat rodents.)

As it was said earlier, Aliens which conquered the Earth want to build a profitable business. They founded the Human Meat and Pet Corporation, or HMPC for short.
HMPC is in charge of the management of human farms, breeding centers and pet stores. HMPC gained a monopoly for that branch across The Galactic Federation. They also manage the human transportation and distribution systems to Aliens in different regions of galaxy.
The main purpose of HMPC is to ensure the profitability and efficiency of the business, and to maximize the number of new generations of humans.

The previously mentioned advantages of humans can also be exploited by other aliens. The HMPC don't want humans to breed uncontrollably in space. They also don't want there would be a market competitors in the federation for their industry of 'human production' on Earth.
Therefore, HMPC don't sell or ship human females off Earth.
The situation is different with males. Semen is collected from mature males until they are 20 years old. Semen is needed to diversify the gene pool and to fertilize females that are kept on separate farms.
Moreover, human males are bigger and stronger than females. They can do heavier physical works and bear more pain. There is more meat on their bodies.
When males reach about 20 years of age, their genitalia are locked in chastity cages permanently. Sometimes they are sterilized or neutered completely. Then, males are sold to to other aliens and exported beyond the Earth.
In some cases males are additionally trained before sell to get more meat or being stronger for harder jobs.

Depending on the customer, people are equipped with collars with locators, cuffs, chastity cages (for those who are not neutered), masks needed to breath in other atmospheres, mittens to to prevent holding tools and appropriate markings on their clothes or tattooed on their skin. They also can be silenced permanently. Brainwashing is an option too.

Some alien races use humans mostly as labour slaves or lab rats. Despite lower intelligence and a slightly different body structure, the human body is somewhat similar to some alien races. Humans also can communicate in their simple language. This allows cosmetics and medicines to be tested on humans. They can say what is aching them and how they are feeling.

Other races use human as meat source. In the age of 20-30 Earth years, they are ready to be fed as food for Aliens or their meat can be used to make feed for larger farm animals.

Some aliens treat humans with some respect. They treat them like pets. Alien families want to have a semi-intelligent animals in cage or even let them walk freely around aliens' houses.

But there are more devious aliens too. Some human males are purchased to be used in brothels. There are a lot of perverts among the aliens. They like soft, hairless, scaleless human bodies.

The guy from this pic is being transported from theEarth to an unknown destination. He is gaged permanently, so he will never complain or scream for help. He's marked 'PET' on the clothes, so at least they won't eat him. At least that's what he hopes...
