This piece kind of has a bit of a strange story. It started as something completely different, and somehow, the images, text, and meaning changed as I was actually creating it. New ideas came from the original, and more often from my mistakes. So I just went with it.

My original idea (which will remain nameless for the moment as it might still appear in my gallery sometime in the future) required a large canvas, which explains the size. I experimented a lot with the colors; it went from gold, to red, to yellow, to green, then finally to the bluish purple in the finished version.

The purple sky with Cloud Christ is all me, with no photograph base used. However, since we have no oceans in Michigan, I had to snatch a beach image from someone. That someone was David Wyatt, and his photography can be found here . This is the photograph I used.
