Awwww, so glad you enjoyed my fractal and so amazed that you made this from that inspiration. This is fantastic! I really love the shapes and depth of it!

Thank you for the inspiration, I love the shape and 'chrominess' of your piece but didn't want to make something too similar. It was a great exercise in starting out with a goal in mind and working to make what I wanted, not something I achieve very often

Lovely colors and shape and I love the shiny texture.

Thank you, I had a goal this time rather than just idle play and it seemed to pay off or I've finally started to understand what does what at a subliminal level I suspect the latter

I am glad you got what you like. It's a great feeling I think

Lovely! I do hope you are quite well and just hopelessly addicted to APO!

I was addicted to Apo but because of the brain drain of this ME/CFS I have trouble remembering even simple things like how to create basic, well known fractal structures. The only ones I "remember" are the ones I kept notes on while I was making them. It's hard to move on to advanced things when you are constantly having to relearn the basics, so I feel rather stuck and stagnant.

pretty cool design actually, i like it better than the one that inspired you to be honest.
yet, the edges could have been a little softer.
keep up!

I know what you mean about the edges. I tried to boost the gamma a bit but it didn't do what I hoped it would and instead went into big fuzzy mess, though I do like some of the messy fractals. Then tried a little carefully applied blur then noise and got a big mess too So I decided to cut back to clean edges. I'll post its origins in scraps for you to see how it developed [link]

those edges are really simple to avoid actually, just render at a higher filter radius. try filter radius 1 - 1.5.
but i feel like i'm nagging now while i just want to give some advice, hehe.
you can also adjust filter radius on your screen (options - display). that way you don't have to render it first but you can see how it would look. the thing is, i've made this "mistake" myself for ages until someone made me aware of the filter radius function. then i restyled all my work and the results were really satisfying.
at this topic [link] i wrote a mini tutorial on this issue, see if it helps .

Thanks Halcyon, I'm trying out a bunch of different filter radius settings to see how they work as it was 'standardlly' set to 0.2 and I often wondered how you go about 'antialiasing' the curves. Now I know
