My progress with oil painting is coming along nicely.... its a slow process but i can see definite improvement as time goes by.the top one is a personal project i have been working on,
the lower one is one i am working on for my grandfather, a rocket truck he used to drive long, long ago.

thank you! its getting there; when i first picked up a paint brush i thought i would never be able to get it like others do; its something i have had a lifelong aversion to; but i am definitely learning as i go now!

depends on which one.... the "honest john" truck will be finished as i have promised my grandad it will be finished asap...
the personal one i dont know how long before its finished; i am kinda learning as i go and using this pic to experiment with clouds and painting in general.... i am still in the learning phase with oil paints but i think its coming along nicely

am getting there....
slowly but surely.... do you remember the image i uploaded of the rocket carrier a while back? he first asked me to draw it when i was 11, and i have re-drawn it every eight years or so... now he has pretty severe Alzheimer's and the only thing he seems to remember properly, without fail, is the fact that he asked me to draw this rocket-carrier. so i thought as i evolve from drawing simple things to painting full on true-to-life colour images i owe him this. he served my country and fought the IRA, and now in his mid 70's he deserves something back (though i must admit i keep re-drawing this image.... but thats a good thing; i am learning to work with stuff i wouldn't normally work with and it gives me a chance to push my boundaries and practice toward the ultimate goal; to become the best oil painter in the world!!!!!!)
