  The door slammed in her blood stained face. A second passed before we reacted. Brian smiled first then set off all of us dancing around the living room. There was reason to celebrate for us; it was beach day and Jessica was gone.
  "I won nigga!" Zacky shouted in my face.
  "I don't care, she's gone!" we all danced and continued our fabulous morning.

  "We have news, we have news; hold fucking shit we have news!" I sang walking into the Berry's back yard.
  "What?" Val and Kat demanded, intrigued.
  "Jessica and Bri are no more, and I think I broke her nose." I smiled delivering the news to everyone.
  Then the party began. Beach day was our only day we all had off; the day we chilled all day and partied all night. Our plans were to play on the beach all day, then spend the night club hopping until we pass out or throw up or something worse.
  Again, I found myself watching the couples play on the beach. Gnome and Nyck, Matt and Val, and JB and Kat were just their usual selves. Jimmy had a new girl named Lynn, Matty was chasing anything that walked by and Cam had been dating a girl named Sam for a little over a year. Everyone was happy, except me. Even Brian was chasing the girls that passed by. I sat back, watching as a blonde beauty responded to his calls, joining him all smiles and flirting relentlessly. Jealousy raged inside me and to avoid showing myself I took off alone down the beach. The tears stung as I furiously wiped them away, wishing I didn't care.
  Two or three miles down the beach I collapsed in the sand, not wanting to ever be found. I was being selfish and he wasn't even mine. I didn't even know why I left this way, I just did. I was a monster born of attraction, lust, greed, and possibly love.
  "Talk to me sweetie." Zacky looked deep into my blood shot eyes.
  "I can't, I'm a monster. He's not even mine!" I sobbed into his chest.
  "Doll, you're not a monster and you shouldn't feel that way. Now, he's single, what are you crying about?"
  "That blonde on the beach; she's gorgeous and they were flirting and I have no chance." I sighed.
  "Oh Jesus fucking Christ Andi, that's one of his friends from college. You have nothing to worry about, she's a lesbian." Zacky laughed hugging me.
  "Really? That's fantastic, but I'm gonna have to work fast. Do you think I'm his type at all?" I finally smiled.
  "Honestly, I have no clue. He's rather inconsistent when it comes to women. All I can say is try your best." He picked me up and brushed off the sand."Now let's go get you your step-brother." We giggled walking back down the beach.
  The rest of the day we played volleyball, beach golf, and anything else we could think of. It was warm for early December so we played at the water's edge a little bit. Everything was back to fantastic.

2 Weeks Later

  "Your first legal drink!" Val shouted handing me a shot.
  We'd just made it to my favorite club after a day full of running. We hit the DMV, mall, beach, and finally clubbing. I was wearing the silver tiara Gnome bought me and a new outfit the girls insisted on buying for me. I wasn't the youngest in our little "family," but most everyone had already turned 21. Needless to say, everyone was excited to celebrate with me.
  "Woo, 21 on the 21st, how ya feeling champ?" JB laughed across the table.
  "Pretty good; you all have kept me drinking since I woke up. This is so much fun." I smiled sipping a rum and Coke.
  Everyone danced, drank, and had a good time just celebrating and enjoying each other's company.
  "Hey Andi, we have a surprise for you. Now close your eyes." Jimmy demanded.
  I did so and waited anxiously while they did whatever it was they had planned, "Now open!"
  I squealed and hugged Jackie as tight as possible. We hadn't seen each other since I had moved out to Cali.
  "Hey girlie, I missed you. Who got you here?" I yelled over the music.
  "Zacky and Brian called and Val got the ticket for me. Now who the hell are all these people? They haven't told me much of anything." She giggle looking around the VIP room they had rented for me.
  "Oh Jesus; well this is Zacky, he's like my bestest man-friend and no he's not gay." We laughed at each other remembering just two weeks prior, "Nest is Brian, my step-brother, I'll tell ya more later on that one. But to continue onward; there's Jimmy and Lynn are together, Sam and Cam, MattB and his twin brother JB with his lady Kat, Little Matty is Zacky's brother, Johnny is with Nyck, and finally Val and Matt are together as well. That's pretty much everyone. The only person that's not here is Danny.  You'll get to meet him later." I leaned over and whispered, "Girl, he's totally your type; tan, muscular, the whole long, tan, and handsome package, and he's a doll." We giggled like we always had about boys.
  "You two are creepy together, I like, seriously. So, let's go dance; shall we?" Zacky suggested pushing us out of the booth without an answer.
  I'd chosen my absolute favorite club for the night. Excess was the best alternative dance club ever! All the VIP rooms overlooked the dance floor and the music was always rocking.
  On the floor Zacky, Jackie, and I all danced like no one was watching. Several songs flew by and we didn't take any notice. The only thing that changed was how much sweat was making our clothes cling to our soaking bodies.

In the VIP Room; Syn's POV

  I couldn't tear myself away from the class window that overlooked the dance floor. Watching her dance with other men only made me that much more angry for being a coward. She's mine! Well not yet, but a man can dream. I needed to fix this; I needed her.

  Another sing ended and the crowd cheered. The three of us were having a blast, but I couldn't help feeling like something was wrong. We had seen familiar faces come and go as the colors of the night blurred together.
  Spin Me Right Round by Dope poured through the speakers and shook the room. It was one of my absolute favorite songs so naturally I went on dancing. I closed my eyes for just a moment, savoring the sounds and feelings surrounding me. When I stepped back into my reality I found myself in the arms of a new man. I wasn't close to Zacky and Jackie anymore.

I wasn't close to Zacky and Jackie anymore.
