Description
We walked to a wood paneled wall and a set of doors opened before us. We stepped into an ornately decorated elevator and Brian presses a button; then we began our descent."Did you know your eyes turn black all over and your fangs look grey from all the black venom in them? That's what you're Princess. You are the vampire queen reincarnated! And we're at a vampire club/embassy. You must be presented to the elders tonight. They knew we had a hew female and were planning to kill you if you were not presented tonight. And even then if they don't approve of your condition, once we show them who you are, we all die." His red eyes looked tired and scared.
"Oh, no pressure." My voice shook slightly, "So, why do you all act so weirded out? Like Jimmy was borderline crying in the limo."
"The only reason the elders intervene in creations is if they feel threatened. We had a brother murdered by a Federation member so they watch our creations very carefully. Can't have your officers starting a war of their own with a new born." He grimaced.
"Okay and the Federation is some rival group?" I asked slowly
"They're more than that EK. They're the reason this war was started. They're all vial monsters that thrive on drinking vampire blood. We're the Embassy's last chance. You can build a demon army and we are set to be their officers." The elevator stopped.
"Shit." My eyes bulged slightly. I was suddenly petrified.
We were greeted by an anxious looking quartet of familiar faces. The long, dark hall that stretched out before us made me feel a lot more uncomfortable. This place looked like a fucking prison!
Jimmy's eyes were a sharp and dangerous scarlet red when he faced Brian and I. His lips were set in a hard line and his brows were knit together in concern. Zacky and Johnny mirrored this look and Matt was on the defense.
"And where the fuck did you all disappear to?" Jimmy demanded of us.
"I had to cure a guilty conscience, and we realized I shattered his jaw and my hand. So can we go now? I don't like it down here." I grimaced.
"Alright, let's get this done." Matt finally responded to our arrival.
We walked silently to the opposite end of the hall and opened the door. It looked like a dimly lit court room. I could tell who the elders were, both by their appearances and the way no one looked them straight in the eye. The others here sat quiet, waiting for the victim. Oh yay, that's me.
We stepped through the divider and stood across from the bench. My heart raced as I anticipated my judgment. Could the really kill me if I was their only hope?
"Ah, the Huntington Beach clan, I presume you fine young men will be presenting your newest creation?" a sharp nosed, graying man boomed. His dull red eyes were filmy and shaded denoting his age.
"We are; for your judging we present Miss Ekaterina Grace of the Huntington Beach coven." Matt smiled shyly then they all stepped away from me leaving me alone and exposed.
I was surrounded by elderly vampires, punching and prodding every inch of me. The one that had spoken stood in front of me inspecting me from head to toe. He opened his mouth showing chipped, yet immaculate, fangs.
"Show us your fangs girl." He demanded of me.
I quickly did the same as earlier, knowing now that my eyes were entirely black and my fangs were dripping tar like venom. His eyes slanted in scrutiny as he viewed my fangs.
"When was she given the serum?" he shot at the boys over my head.
"When we changed her; approximately three A.M. two nights past." Jimmy rambled quietly.
"She's in immaculate condition for one so young." He smiled then looked down at my body, "What's this?" he picked up my right hand and a shock of pain ran through my shoulder.
"There was a disagreement between she and I. It's solely my fault; I'm sorry Sir." Brian spoke up with his head bowed trying to hide his broken jaw.
"You will be punished for your actions Gates." He frowned at him…I could feel the tension in the room.
"Actually it was my fault. I punched him after he simply did his job. I'm a bitch." I shrugged withdrawing my aching hand.
"Is this true Mr. Gates?" he looked back up. Brian nodded and I showed a bashful smile. "This is good. She's a fighter she will serve us well. You young men have done a fine job." This man's sweetest smile was creepy, "You are all released; go to the hospital first to get everything fixed then let her enjoy the good side of the Embassy."
We left quicker than we arrived, disappearing through a side door opening into the white, sterile halls of a hospital. Creepy. We walked to the front desk and were sent straight back to a private room. When the doctor entered the room she smiled at us and picked up two charts. She asked several questions then checked my hand and Brian's jaw. She didn't act concerned in the slightest when she grazed Brian's slightly sharpened incisors. She snapped his jaw back into place and handed him a bag of blood that he drank by her instruction. Slowly the deep bruising that covered his jaw line lightened and disappeared.
Next she took my hand and looked at the crushed mess. Causing minimal pain she clipped off the ring and reset everything; giving me a blood bag as well. I drank it and felt the broken bones fusing back into place and watched as the bruising faded away. We thanked her and left through another door.
Jimmy looked at my hand and smiled. He laced his fingers through mine and led me into the night club we had entered. It had barely any lighting and pounding industrial music seeping into every pore.
I followed the boys obediently as they wove through the throng of tangled bodies. We wound our way up a crowded stairwell into a secluded room, closing the door behind us. Everyone sat on the Roman style bed that overlooked the dance floor. Watching from above, the dance floor looked like a solid moving mass.
"Well; you're not dead. Tonight is going great!" Zacky smiled at me.
"Yeah I like being not dead. It seems to work for me." We laughed, "So where are we exactly?"
"The better part of the Embassy; night club exclusively for vampires. An endless supply of fresh donors and any alcohol you could dream of. It's sort of like a night child paradise, but we're always being watched. There's no privacy here. That's why they want is here; nothing can happen if they don't want it." Jimmy sighed, a deep frown set on his features.
"Oh, alright then. Brian, may I speak to you over by the bar?" I smiled; he nodded and crawled off the bed.
We crossed the room and ordered drinks for everyone while we talked. To say it was awkward would be an understatement, but I knew he was Jimmy's best friend; he could answer my questions.
