Description
Happy New Year's ( Eve ), depending on when this reaches you, or where you live. Personally, 2011 was a tragedy, a comedy, and a large test of true and fake relationships. This year, I became a highschooler. I can say the people have grown to be much friendlier than I would assume. However, I managed to pluck out select 'friends', as I shall say before the end of the year. Whether it was my demeanor towards them or the way they truly treated me, although for one situation it was quite near the end of the year, I managed to end, or lace off several 'bonds' before 2011 waved goodbye to me. I also managed to very well learn of one friendship that would not budge no matter how either end pulled, and the importance of it became some 'soul' bound.
There was a breakthrough point this year. It did not hit me until pretty much the last two weeks of December, in which I started to drift away from my old account, thoughts, and ultimately, mind. In it's full integrity, I can say my entire lift of passion shifted towards another direction. Though my goals themselves have not completely changed ( only the thought of minoring or double-majoring in math ), I can say that what I felt and knew are not the same. IQ-wise, perhaps, but internally, something is different.
Even though there were [ verbal ] fights, mishaps, unwanted drama, there was reconciliation, new bonds, and refurbished friendships. Some were loss, some are still being pulled apart. I see it as a timely thing, however, and that is what 2011 was. A huge quiz, almost, in the test of life to see how well I could manage everything within this amount of alotted time. Although I would have preferred for the anxiety and depressive moments to fly away, they may as well be the most memorable.
I have, nonetheless, become more aware of this year as it's being. From participating in various activities I would refuse to only some several months later, and to keeping some very few friendships after establishing so many that held just about as much potential than the others, being able to trust, to love, and to enjoy became key components in everything.
As a whole new year, I cannot see 2012 as a 'fresh new start'. New it may be, but the old it will bear, and that we shall have to bear along with us. It is not all a task, though. Even if 2011 was nothing but a drab, it was something you lived through, and ought to be part of you. Forgive and forget, but don't release the knowledge gained.
As we silently kiss 2011 goodbye, or give it our last reminisce, we glance back to the previous years, wondering where our precious tick-tocking time has brought us. From when we were born, until now. Still, the future is unclear. Whatever it may be, I wish you all a 2012 worth remembering, and days that will replace those you would rather not think about.
With a full heart, I shall bid you and your 2011 adieu, and await what tomorrow has in store.
