I've been meaning to do something for myself, with my Shepard, for a while now, but in a way it was harder, because it had to live up to my overblown expectations. It doesn't help that my last crack at my Shepard didn't quite turn out the way I wanted it to, and evolved into one of those art pieces that you start to hate the more you look at it. (Every artist has gone through this, I think...)

I ended up re-doing Shepard's face a few times, dissatisfied with the freehand. In the end, I decided to use my original inspiration as a reference. Way back when I first started playing ME, I'd just finished an autobiography of an amazingly courageous woman, and took her as inspiration for my first and best-loved Shepard. So I hope she'll forgive me for borrowing her face... but I'm pretty sure she's the kind of woman who would step up and kick some ass to save the galaxy if it was asked of her.
