Description
He went there every night, bloody burlap sack in hand. Feet dangling over the dock and eyes shadowed by a filthy rabbit mask, he would toss pieces of meat from off the deck and into the waters below, watching as things of various shapes, sizes and states of being would arise from them in a state of desperation, devouring the flesh in large portions. The rain on this particular night poured over the masked figure, whom would sit and watch in silence as the thing he had been feeding looked up at him with alien eyes. There was a mutual understanding between them, and despite no words or gestures being exchanged, it was clear that the horrible deeds the man had committed were beneficial to the unknown horrors of what is dwelling under our acknowledgement. While not many could surface, imprisoned by blind eyes and fate itself, those that could would remain present so long as that man was there to accompany them.
