Description

Travis was chosen to be the COTD on the Death Battle Discord in celebrate the release of No More Heroes 3 and things got heated.

The majority on Discord want Travis to fight Jack Cayman from Madworld though a vocal portion (including myself) want Scott Pilgrim.

As for connections:

Both fight multiple superpowered opponents so they can date a girl.

Both are loser bums/nerds (Travis is an otaku while Scott is supposedly gamer based on the multiple video game references in the graphic novels.)

Both live in an apartment with mundane job and activities outside their combative quest for romance.

Both have a questionable relationship with an underaged sword-wielding girl (Shinobu Jacobs for Travis and Knives Chau for Scott.)

Both fight a manipulative business mogul who use assassins to do their dirty work (Jasper Batt Jr. for Travis and Gideon Graves for Scott.)

The main issue people seem to have with this match up is they think Scott would look ugly in 3D while Travis doesn't have any sprites that would mesh well with Scott.

My issue with this argument is that Death Battle themselves have been custom sprites for characters who lack them going as far back as Toph from Avatar in season 2.

Travis Touchdown is owned by Goichi Suda.

Scott Pilgrim is owned by Bryan Lee O'Malley.
