I decided to do the 30 Days, 30 Letters Challenge a few days ago...I may kind of spam you guys (sorry!) because I've been too lazy and alternately, too busy to post them and I now have seven days done (eight letters, though. You'll see why if you follow me through them...)

Life is hard, and unfortunately sometimes we need to make decisions that are best for ourselves, if not necessarily for others, but it's not done out of spite or in trying to hurt anyone. I'm glad you and your sister were able to have time now that you're older to get reacquainted.

It was a year of distance, one we needed but one that made me so angry! She turned tail and ran away at age 17, only to return home shortly before her 18th birthday.
Honestly, the best part of the whole mess is that we've gotten closer...

Somehow your sister reminds me of myself, but then through the eyes of my younger sister - if you understand what I mean.
And that was interesting and a little bit painful, because sometimes we forget the burden or hurt of someone else in the progress of saving our own ass ( I did learn to care about that eventually

I understand what you mean, hon.
I have a feeling my older sister is going to feel kind of like this about me... She came back home, and we got closer and made plans, but then I had to leave for college. It's not that we mean to hurt each other: it just happens. And it took me a long time to get over this.
But I bet your sister forgives you, too... It's just hard to say that, sometimes.
