Oh man, this one was a DOOZY! If you’re following my Facebook page, then you’ll already know about how much trouble I went through to put all this together. Learned a ton of new things along the way. First time I’ve used better sculptey clay, first time I’ve used resin, and first time I’ve done something so detailed out of clay. I am so happy with it!

The original idea with the resin, was to just put it on the painted blue part so that the fish looked like it was under water, with the lily pads and duckweed on the surface. However I didn’t seal the edges correctly and the resin leaked right through and across the sides. So I just said screw it and put in another layer just for coverage. I also didn’t sand the wooden base enough so it feels weirdly rough in some parts.

Overall, I had a lot of fun with this and learned a LOT! I’m selling iron Etsy, so if you or someone else would like a near figure like this, and also support the artist, then check out the link. What do you guys think?
