My broken heart contains within

the wisdom of a thousand sages.

And gratitude to those who have been my teachers.

For them who consider me undeserving,

have taught me to see my own true worth.

They who casually trampled upon my gentle innocence,

have given me the strength to be angry, without guilt.

From those who choose to simply walk away,

I learned the value of people who welcome me into their lives as I am.

Those who have broken their words, seeking to leave me in chaos,

have given me the great peace that comes from knowing that I kept my own.

From all who place their highest value on their own way,

was I shown the love that comes of making sacrifice for the sake of others.

From every soul that has ever tried to shake the naive trust of my inner child,

I have learned to forgive, to stand firm in, and with truth, and to love as a man!
