Description

The mindless monsters known as Geisters have menaced Elysium City, last refuge of humanity , for over a hundred years . Spawned from sickly quantum foam, Geisters are — unbeknownst to most of the citizens — shaped by the thoughts and fears of humans penetrating the Zeitgeist Field, a layer of psychological energy caused by the psychoreactive K-Stones that allow Elysium to exist. This field is is unable to distinguish between vice and virtue, fear and hope; it brings dreams and nightmares to life in equal measure. Whenever emotions run high, the chances of a Geister manifestation event drastically increase.

One such manifestation event took place during the "Riders' Ball", a gathering organised by Soleil d'Or with an open invitation to all Riders active in Elysium, commemorating the "heroic" defeat of the vigilante Lone Rider Ringo by Contract Rider Luxe . During the party, Luxe was prominently awarded a new upgrade, presented to him by Elysium's most prominent hero, the Common Rider . With many of the Riders in the room already frustrated with the Common Rider continuing to represent the decaying institution of Elysium's civic government, seeing him participating in what was a blatant propaganda ceremony for Soleil d'Or and its pet Rider caused their frustrations and anger to reach a boiling point... and mere minutes later, a swarm of locust-like humanoid Geisters burst through the floor, many of them even aggregating into a single enormous unit. Thanks to the presence of so many Riders, all civilians were evacuated without harm and the Geister swarm was defeated, but the building was completely destroyed, the surrounding architecture was badly damaged, and many of those present were left shaken.

Many months later, hordes of similar Geisters manifested after Senan Lexley released footage of a much younger Hitomonji (the future Common Rider) killing his mentor, Sakurako Sawatari , during a Geister attack; however, the heroic Contract Riders were able to defeat the swarm with a repentant Hitomonji's help after he was encouraged to stop wallowing in his own misery by Parker Prophet, Contract Rider Java .

These guys were the closest thing we had to "monster henchmen" in Contract Riders. The colours (blue/grey, red/brown, and green/yellow) were inspired by Kamen Rider #1, Kuuga and Zero-One respectively, but retroactively could be considered to be based on the Common Rider's Bio-Rider, Robo-Rider and base forms. The designs are intended to look like twisted, organic versions of the Common Rider's base form, with toothy mouths that evoke the Another Riders of Kamen Rider Zi-O.
