The Lunarise Driver was created by a group of Foundation X scientists experimenting with Cosmic Energy, who theorised that by modulating a single Astroswitch across twelve different energy wavelengths, the need to assemble the twelve Horoscopes to cause the Day of Awakening could be bypassed; their intention was to hijack the Sagittarius Zodiarts' plans from under him and manipulate events in Foundation X's favour. However, the attempt was deemed a failure, and the Lunarise Driver was shelved.

...none of which explains how it came into the possession of ordinary high school student Nami Arata (新タ波), who uses the belt to transform into Kamen Rider Luna. By rotating the Aspect Cycler on the front of the belt, Luna can switch between twelve distinct modules to aid her in battle; by default she uses the Usagi Module, a pair of powerful springs mounted on the backs of her legs, but she can also use others such as the Tatsu Module flamethrower and the Hebi Module grappling hook. Though she lacks the sheer versatility and module combinations of Kamen Rider Fourze, Nami is a natural in quickly switching between tools in battle to stay one step ahead of her foes. Her signature Limit Break is the Luna Screw Kick, a twisting kick that uses the Usagi Module's springs to propel her towards her foe.

...So, first of all - no, I don't know why I keep making yellow-tinted Riders with moon motifs . I swear it's not intentional.

Obviously, Luna is based on the moon and the concept of the "moon rabbit", but she's more specifically based on the Chinese zodiac derived from the lunar calendar. It was fun figuring out how to make her look like an authentic Fourze Rider while not just retreading Fourze or Meteor's designs; the collar and "harness" between the torso and arms helped a lot in that regard!

To fit with the members of the Kamen Rider Club, Nami Arata's name is inspired by a Showa-era Kamen Rider... but I won't tell you which one. Try and figure it out!
