Description
One of the customers I deliver to had this computer sitting in their body shop on a shelf collecting dust and paint splatter. I asked the boss about it and he said that a paint company who use to be associated with them (for a reason not given) gave it to them a few years ago and never came by to pick up the machine. The boss said I would have to speak with another employee about it and eventually he let me have it.I cleaned this machine out with their air hose but I could not get the white paint or primer splatter off the case. I was originally going to sell this machine off but I decided I wanted to keep it as a backup machine since this had the best hardware of any machine that anyone has ever given to me to this point. I thought it would be a cool small project to sand it and paint it. I asked one of customer's at work what grit would be best and he said 600 grit would work for the metal and plastic. I bought a pack of mixed grit sand paper from Amazon decided to paint it with Satin Colonial Red with Rust-Oleum's Painter's Touch 2X Ultra Cover Paint+Primer. The idea for the red color comes from special colored game cartridges such as Maximum Carnage.
I also upgraded the processor to a Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650 and RAM.
