Did you spend any money, getting your characters copyrighted?

I have copyrights on my characters and novel that they are from, currently going through submissions, I didn't have to spend anything though

I asked Tracy J. Butler a similar question and she said that the copyright's there once they exist in a tangible form.
Have you any advice for getting your writings and characters noticed? Β I've been reading many books and I'm looking for a good angle.
What's the best format for amassing a portfolio for a publisher?

I'm currently going through the same thing as you. I purchased a book on contacting publishing agents, I highly recommend looking to the books for help on this one, since I'm a first timer currently first-timing it. The book tells how to write queries and acquire an agent. Once you have a agent they worry about the pitching and exposure. The book is the 2014 Guide to Literary Agents and is updated every year.

Wow. Β Thank you for the suggestion, Miss.

Say, from your experience, do you think that the style of the animal drawings in my gallery would translate well to a comic format such as the one you use?Β

Any style of drawing will work in a comic. Just look at Cyanide and Happiness, they're all stick figure blocks. There's no level of art specific for comics. You can have hyper realistic like Lackadaisy or lax like Cyanide and Happiness (or whatever the hell mine is since its 5 years old and inconsistent throughout time and space)
If you're looking to print and sell you want to keep consistency. All in color, all in B/W, all traditional, all digital. Mine's all over the place but its not intended for print
Consistency is important regardless
