A doodle that went insane when I decided to try out the "pastels" in Painter. Long story short, I loooove them.For anyone that reads the Redwall series (and you all should, really) -- this is Songbreeze Swifteye, from the book Marlfox. She ended up a little beefier than I anticipated, but she looks like she could probably kick some tail, so I'm pretty happy.
Painter, about 4 hours nonstop.

because I have not read Marlfox yet because. . . I HAVE NOT GOT PAWS- I MEAN HANDS ON THAT BOOK! So I had no idea who it was....Β Β Β I thought it was going to be Fwirl, Jess, Sarobando, Fenna or Armel, I only thought of Armel because she used a window poll was a weapon. Somehow I did not see the green stone on the top at first.Β

It's really a great book (although to be honest, I love all of the Redwall books) and I bet you'll enjoy meeting Songbreeze!

Wow its sooo acurate! I am still reading redwall and the last one i read was Marlfox. If there is anybody wanting to read them start wih The Long Patrol,The Taggerung or Loamhedge. They are my all time favs. But of course all Redwalls are good, right?

Ah this is so onice, love the texture of her dress and her tail, you did amazing! Aww and I am so happy to see an image of Song, I always really liked her. Her eyes are gorgeous and yes, she looks a whole lot more muscular than I immagined she would be...but maybe this is what she looks like after the journey

Ah, dear Song. Love you. Definently one of my favorite characters, certainly one of my favorite books. (Marlfox has great villains too. Lantur is epic, in my opinion. No idea why. I use the name in Spanish class when I need on though. A weird habit of mine.) Great drawing!

Ah, I recognized the Woodleaf right away! Excellent interpretation of Song--strong just like her father. And the color scheme going on here, I love it! It reminds me of early childhood book illustrations.

It was a greenstone or a greenstick or something like that. It was her weapon. I can't remember the name of it though haha.

Absolutely the best depiction of Song during the book I've seen. Love the details in the clothing and the face. The leafy belt design really is the coup e'tat.
