Description
This came about from the fact that I'm missing from a chart that FurAffinity user Agouti-Rex constructed - [link]Probably my biggest influence has been newspaper comic strips. There's traces of Peanuts, the Far Side, and Garfield in my work. It wasn't until I began to research the world of fine art that I really broadened my horizons. My favorite painter is Paul Klee, part of the Bauhaus school and Expressionist movement. It's no big surprise that Klee's work has been influential in my own for that matter. The children's illustrator Richard Scarry has been an influence too.
Unlike the more analytical types, I tend to trust my instincts when working. For that reason, I tend to identify with abstract painters like Jackson Pollock and Mark Rothko. There might be a smidgen of Cubism and Art Deco in my work too. I have been researching those styles in the library and bookstore, so it shouldn't be a shock that maybe that's creeping in.
All in all, these come together to merge into the style that is me. IMHO, this is a pretty neat chart too. I knew those graphic design lessons would pay off.
