Description I hope she knows I miss her
That I'm thinking of the last time I kissed her
Waved goodbye from the front porch, damp
Watched as she was wheeled down the stair ramp
She couldn't walk well, lost her independence
But her eyes still held the same resplendence
She never read a word I rhymed
So now this poem seems in good time
A funeral I expected but never wanted
A smiling face that will leave me haunted
I felt she died a long time ago
This isn't much of a shock, but even so
She's left a hole, so great and wide
In the world, in our minds, and deep inside
Traditions will change next year, I'm sure
I'm wishing that they won't, that there was another cure
Reading over these words and though they're not enough
For a woman so beautiful, so verile, so tough
I hope that she'll recieve them well, up there in the sky
Knowing that down here, we're still wondering why
I hope she knows I miss her
And that she has everything I've ever wished for her

Thank you so much, Shaun. I tried so hard to make this a good poem... to make it good for her. I'm wondering if I should put this in her funeral or not... I really think I'd like her to have it, or at least... ah well, I'll figure it out. You're a great friend, thank you for that.

I'm the one on the right. My sister's on the left, and Nana in the middle, obviously. I love that picture... *sigh*

I was such a cute little kid! I had a Members' Only jacket and everything!! What happened?
