Description Soot is my friend's character. --->
She is Ash's (another character of my friend) cousin, and has a deep hatred for her. This is because she is always mistaken for Ash due to her signature curly hair thing on the top of her head. (I don't even...) Her clothing consists of a white t-shirt, white shorts, neon orange life guard vest, and red sneakers. Her hair is supposed to be purply-blue. c:

To : I have a lot of trouble with anatomy and shading. The scanner killed a bit of the colours, and I tend to accidentally colour outside of the lines. ;w; Other than that, I tried to have the lighting come from the left side of the drawing, and I tried a bit of reflective lighting to tie her in with the wagon, but I don't think I'm doing it right. xD Is it alright if I have a redline and some tips on the colouring? Thank you! All help is appreciated. c:
Oh, and I may not correct this after, since it's a traditional drawing. ;3; But all critiques would help me improve in later drawings ~

Cute piece! I think you did a good job with the reflective light on her legs.

Corrections I'd suggest: I think her head & neck are a bit too big. Also her right eye (left from our point of view) is a bit too far away from the nose. Try to draw eyes that close, that a third eye would fit in between them.
I'd also draw her hips a bit broader and her legs thicker. They should look strong enough to carry her weight. Also they are half of the total height, so I think they are a tiny bit too short here.
Arms reach to the middle of the thigh when relaxed, so I think they are a little bit too short too. Also the hands and feet are a bit too small. Draw them as big that they could cover the face (eyes-nose-mouth area). Also the feet look a bit flat. They are thin where the toes are and move up until they connect to the ankle.
The wagon's perspective is not quite correct. The lower line (where the wheels are) should be parallel to the upper line. Also the front wheel should be bigger than the rear one.
For the coloring I'd suggest to not change the general direction in which you're drawing (it's visible in the wagon). It might be a scanner problem, but try harder shadows, stronger highlights - more contrast overall. You're already doing it, but try to use even more different colors to shade the single things (especially the wagon here). Like you did it on the legs and in the hair - it looks very good!

I really like the details you put in there and the hair is nice too. I hope my little critique is helpful to you! Keep practicing.

Thank you for the critique! c: I really appreciate the time you took to help me improve ~

Bulleted form as to make it a bit easier to navigate through. ; u ;"

Yeah, I'm really bad with proportions hahaha. I'll make sure to make the head/neck smaller in my later drawings. c:

Β As for the eyes, I think that was because at that time, I didn't know how to draw a person in a 3/4 view.

Β The legs are definitely too short and skinny now that you've pointed that out for me.

For the arms, I was trying to make them look short because they were supposed to be further back, as they're holding the wagon's handle. How would I fix it to look like that? Would I need to shade it darker?

Thank you for correcting the feet! Those are one of my biggest problems. ;w; I'll do a lot more feet studies hahaha.

Yeah... I was inking in the wagon and accidentally drew one of the wheels lower and bigger than it should have been, then I tried to fix it and messed up even further. That's why the front wheel has a thick line, since I was trying to make it look bigger. ; u ;

General direction? As in perspective?

It was a bit of the scanner's fault, but mine as well. At that time (since I drew this drawing back in May), I was rather afraid to up the contrast between the shadows and the highlights. Also for some parts, like the hair and the wagon handle, I used too light of a colour and pressed too hard, and since they don't layer very well, I couldn't make it darker. That's why I had to resort to black for the hair shadows.

Once again, thank you very much for taking the time to critique this drawing!
