After a long long time. It seems the place has come out straight from history book.
Local history often becomes very intriguing. Love to know it.

I wish I had paid more attention to the well but, no doubt we will go back later this year so may be able to find out more. The village itself though goes a long way back. It seems that although the buildings are medieval there was a settlement on the site dating back to the bronze age.,

Are people still living there or it is abandoned.

Definitely people still living there. There are also restaurants and one or two hotels & bed and breakfasts

It must be a nice place for spending a few days.

We actually stay a few miles away by the sea but this place is delightful to visit just for a few peaceful hours. In the summer, Peratallada (the village) can be incredibly hot so by the sea is more comfortable for us Brits, who are more used to a cold, damp climate!

You would not feel so lucky if you experienced one of our really cold winters!!

Yes, that's true. But a little cold (not freezing) is always charming.Β
