Thank you. It was a lovely place; we used to stay in a B&B (or chambre d’hΓ΄te as they say there) in a house opposite but they retired last year and we have had to find an alternative. The good news is we have found one in an even more beautiful place. πŸŒ²β›°

Indeed it is. I was staying in a house across the road and although charming in its own right was not quite the same.Β

I suspect and hope that you took your quota of
pictures...my impression is that the french countryside
is brimming with these picturesque houses...
You may wish to correspond with clairobscur16 here
when you see her work in this regard... cheerio

The French countryside IS brimming with picturesque houses, some of which I photographed but, sadly, photography has been somewhat curtailed over the last 18 months or so; have had a few knee and hip problems and cameras and crutches don't go well together!! Am optimistic that following surgery later this week, I will be closer to my old self!!

So pretty - the intense sunshine gives it extra energy. The arch and gateway are special.

Thank you - glad you like it. The house is opposite to a chambre d'hote where we have stayed a few times and the arch leads to a garage, which houses a classic car. We were allowed inside the garage to view the car. Needless to say, my husband was in his element, whereas I would have preferred a sneaky peek inside the HOUSE!!

Yes - mechanical wonders enchant us. I look at a steam engine and it just fills me with appreciation. They did so much to bring improvement to remote areas, employment to impoverished communities.

Thanks for the comment. It is quite an awesome house isn't it and the sad thing is that I've never seen anyone living in it! Perhaps the owners were just away on holiday when I was there! Β
