For one, I think the one alien in the middle would have been enough. The other two flanking him distract from the drama of the piece. I also think that the hands are too big, and make the probe look like a toothpick lightly resting in his hands, again taking away from the drama.
It's my personal opinion that you could really enhance this, rather than having a few characters generically posed on a white background.
