Renders from 3D Studio Max report the render time in the diagnostics when they're finished.

I now wonder...how the heck do you even start off doing this kind of art? I'm used to simply drawing from the lead of my pencil...how do you just create something like this from the computer? And now that I read your comment on this piece...I don't think I quite fully understand the meaning of 'render' anymore. These digital works are much too far ahead of my time. I feel stupid or something. This is really great though.

It's made in a 3d program, and to "render" it out means to have the computer calculate all the lighting and materail properties. In this case, highly relfective.

Did you construct the whole thing in 3DS or did you import from some other 3D prog?
A most excellent image!!

What is this done in and can I bribe you for the wireframe render?

3d studio max 6, and the wireframe render is actually in the piece in some parts.
Thanks for taking the time to comment.

A slipsteam of intrige and curiosity. You can totally get yourself lost in the details, textures and patterns. Beautiful work, well worth the time it took to make it.

Dang, I thought 70 hours was bad. Saw this on the print side and had to check it out. Killer depth and reflections going on.
