The design is really good, but the bullets look like they fire from the center of the cylinder. I'd like to see this with some texture applied

well, you'll notice the inner barrel going through the gaps in the upper portion of the large outer barrel, this is the true barrel, whilst the bizzare area at the center of the cylinder really just adds weight to the bottom of the barrel. so in summation, the rounds go through the barrel and not the center cylinder,though it appears so.
