Description
I'm actually rather pleased with this picture. I like the light, especially. The egg is supposed to represent life, and I think it turned out rather poetic.Oh, and well. Feel free to give me your feedback: constructive critique, but I'm also glad to hear what you liked with the photograph.

I'm pleased with it as well. I think it's very creative. The model is perfect... i wouldn't change a single angle of her pose... nor the look she has on the egg.. and she holds the egg perfectly. I don't know anything about photography or lighting or anything like that... i love photography, have several cameras... and i've been an amateur photographer forever... but... i really like the lighting here... and here's my non-professional reasons why...
...the background is just right and allows me to see the wisps of her hair and the fine lines of her pretty body... the light on her body looks golden... i like the way it highlights her face, especially her eye, beneath her chin... the way it highlights her very lovely breast, and down her extremely sleek torso... and also along her arm, tracing it upward... and then just a little glow on her hand beneath the egg... i like all that... it all just seems to flow together... to bring the whole image together... the girl, her "mind", and the egg... that's what i see... those three things...
...she's very beautiful which helps the portrait a great deal... and i'm not sure how much work went into making this photo... but you did a great job... it's a very unique, tasteful, creative, thoughtful... expressive... (i could probably think of a few more words...)... it's a class act! ...at least in my book it is...
...thank you for creating and sharing this... and helping me to pass a few moments of my life with a beautiful image and some pleasing, pleasurable, interesting thoughts...

I may agree with you there - I use nudity very seldom, and when I do, it has a purpose. I don't want anyone to see me as an object, and therefore I only upload the 'deeper' pictures. But the risk is always there, of course. And on the contrary, as a photographer, I'm telling the story about humanity, about the human body. It's a part of reality, and it can be really beautiful.

What about the focus would you change, if you don't mind the question... I don't think I'd change anything! It's funny reading the comments, it's always interesting to see how other artists interpret a piece, what draws their attention, etc. I was so focused on the expression and the egg, I didn't even notice the jewelry or the piercing... The skin, light, and obviously the overall concept, just give this such a powerful emotional feel... This really is a Wonderful, Artistic, and Beautiful image!

I like the profile and "egg concept" in this - a much more imaginative photo than many that are (I hate to say this) "just" of lovely women. It's thoughtful on a lot of levels. The only thing I don't like is the profile of the lip ring. Pierced ears look fine to me, as do pierced nipples, belly button, whatever, but right ON the face - no. And I know, that's just MHO. I really do like the photo.

I am very careful when I take nude shots, especially of myself. I'm slightly afraid of being seen as an object. So I prefer them to be like this. With a concept, a thought. A photo you can interpret in many ways. As with the piercing actually. The scars and the piercing are both symbols for being lost in life, perhaps?
Not that it was my original thought. The scars are there and I don't want to edit them away, nor to empasize them. Especially not on a photo like this, that is about life. They are a part of my life.
So in one way I am afraid to be seen as "just" a beautiful woman, and I am also afraid to be seen just because of my scars, making them my trademark. Because I am me. Lydia. And I have thoughts, ideas and values.
But I guess the photo would be better without the piercing, and also without the bracelets. I am really glad you liked it though.

Oh, please don't take offense that I don't like the lip ring. I was just trying to give you my impression. I just find facial piercings distracting - I looked at your profile photo, and you ARE a lovely lady with stunning eyes. I noticed the scars and certainly didn't mind seeing them; I wouldn't edit them out, either. Things like our scars are just part of our own history. You ARE "at risk" for being seen as "just a beautiful woman Thanks for such a thoughtful response. I do think there is more "art" in this photo than so many others. I can tell you thought about it a lot, and wouldn't be surprised if you shot hundreds of this theme before you got one you liked.

Stunning and brilliant!
For me, although I'd love to have no jewelry at all (only because I think she is more beautiful than it is), her sides and skin texture is really interesting!

Oh, yes. I was wearing lots of bracelets then, I just couldn't stop making them. I guess it was distracting from angst. But anyway, you are right. This shot is far from perfect, especially since I never thought it would turn out like this. If I had, I would've been more careful.
Skin texture - the scars?

The shot is wonderful, I didn't mean to be critical. I just think you are far more beautiful than the jewelry.
The scars are... utterly captivating. I wish I hadn't said anything, I certainly opened my mouth and shoved a foot in it, and I apologize. The scars grab me deeply, I feel such a draw of wanting to protect, to help, to connect, to adore. I realize that is an intense personal reaction to something that probably means something else to you, and is most certainly personal and not my business, and I should have kept it to myself.
I do thank you for sharing your beauty, though, you are truly remarkable.

Don't apologize. They are there, and I never want people to be afraid to speak their opinion. Actually, it's sometimes rather nice to know that other people see something different in them. They mean a lot to me, and I wouldn't want them to go away actually. Even though they disturb me sometimes. But they are a small sign of the huge hurt that occurred a couple of years ago until now.

wow wow wow. Im in love with this image. I think the seam on the curtain in the right top of the frame is a tad distracting though and her elbow (i think its her elbow) is showing on her back. But i <3 it anyway. Great shot!

I agree with you, I'm bothered by those parts too. Perhaps I ought to photoshop it, the seam at least. But I like photos to be as natural as they can. Not too much photoshop.
And thank you, glad you liked it.
