This really is taking design to another level.
Fantastic job on the colors, and I love how they fit so well.

excellent! great taste in layout. you may want to do something about the content window coz the bg is too dark at some parts, maybe increase the opacity so your text is more readable. have you tried adding a little complimentary colours like orange? just a suggestion. well done

really good looking site, i like the blur on the content box but not on that "taking design to another level"-part.

realy looks amazing - but i think there would be some problems, if you want to code it
one could be the background image when shown on diffrent resolutions
sometimes i make things and have to delet them, because i dont know how to code or
it wouldnt work in web.
but GREAT Work fellow!!!

I like it, I really do.
I design web sites - that's my job. If you want a hand coding this, I could take a look. Email me if you'd like and put something about this in the subject so I dont delete it as spam luke.reimer@sympatico.ca

I would really like to make this website, do you think you can send me a direct link to the BG image?

Looks alright but you need to emphasize your links more. The whole point of a portfolio site is to direct visitors to your work and the nagivation links too plain for that. Colour scheme works, but you need to make it really have punch to impress viewers.
Remember, anyone checking out a designer's portfolio is going to be in the industry themselves. Show them something new, show them something creative and totally off-the-wall.

the blurry concept on the "taking design on another level"... it's bit annoying since u blurred it way too much so we can't get the clear view of the bench..
nonetheless... your design was great, cool colour and the simplicity was nice great!

Very nice! I just noticed a couple things. The first being that the line "taking design to another level" kind of gets lost with the blurry box behind it. I think if you dropped the text down a little bit and lined up the bottom of it with the bottom of the main text box and lost the blurry box behind it it would look better. I don't really understand the point of the arrows at the bottom of the page. They get lost in the deck's pattern and compete with the angle of the bench. Instead of lightning the background, maybe you should just edit out the telescope thing as it just looks like a black blob. Awesome job, would be easy to implement with CSS.

Wow, that's brilliant.
The soft colors provide an excellent mood.
And best of all, the design is clean, simplistic, and pleasing to the eye.
I hope you get to coding this.
Remember, XHTML and CSS are the way to go.
However, I don't believe that the copyright notice is placed in the best area. The planks of the deck intersect the letters and distract the eye.
Maybe even replace the deviantArt link with the copyright notice?
I'm sure you'll figure it out.
Thanks for sharing.

This is very amazing, coinsidence I was going through the Designers & Interfaces gallery and saw this. I like the colours and it's a very good choice for this type of season. It would look smooth if it was flashed based, but it will still look nice. I would work with CSS/XHTML, but I guess slicing it will work too, how ever you do it, it's your choice. The background for the text could be a litte bit lighter, so the background blurred image doesn't interfere with the text.
But other than that, it's all good

Interesting design. It looks great! I love the glassy effect on the content area over the photo how it blurs it.
