Description Snake Eyes had arrived at the track a few hours ago. She had had a little workout in the early morning. And now, she was ready to race. Finally, her owner and trainer had managed to teach her how to stay on the inside of the track, and she soon after showed a talent in leading the field and setting the pace. Susan was nervous. It was her first start with an own racehorse ever and the tall filly had showed so much speed in the training, even against some more experienced horses. But a real race remained something different and she had barely had the chance to be ridden by her real jockey. When Susan saw Snake Eyes entering the number 1 post, she stood up to watch her. It seemed the dark bay was just as nervous as her owner. She raised her head and shook it several times, and clearly had a lack of concentration when the gate swung open. Still, she broke nicely as second, making her way through on the inside. The horse in the number 3 post, who was leading her at that point, could not keep up this fast early speed for too long and the jockey held it back. And this was Snakey's chance. The filly took over the lead and Susan was so concentrated and tense that she almost forgot to breathe when the horses ran into the first turn. And Snake Eyes did what she had been exspected to do. She ran to the outside. Because of the lots of training-sessions, she stayed in the middle of the track instead of totally reaching the outside rail, though, but still lost the lead. She twitched her ears and then, suddenly, started racing towards the inside again, as if the only thing she wanted to do was let the other horses get infront of her so she could blow them off the track again. She had gone so slow around the turn that the jockey could let her go a little faster in the stretch, and she ran past her challengers again. In the second turn, she of course went further to the outside again, but not as far as last time. Now, Susan could see the puzzled looks of the jockeys behind her when she slightly turned her head and looked at them while going for the inside rail again. And then, she was turned loose and the whip only had to touch her shoulder two times until she started running as if it was for her life. Susan could not believe it as the filly started pulling away, looking more beautiful and graceful with every stride. 'We've got a really good horse there', she thought when the bay's head reached the finish line, five lengths in front.

Yay! Snake Eyes has won her maiden race now!
I messed up the stats, I only remember she did it by 4 3/4. But I will probably check them and add them later.
