Description Compared to the arm muscles I pasted before this diagram should be easier to digest. Just note a few things...

Gracilis means thin in latin, that muscle is paper thin and lies over the adductor magnus.

Both the Vastus lateralis and Semimembranosus are deceptively large and creep under other tendons and muscles.

To make your leg look right make sure the rectus femoris is the furthest muscle out for the upper leg, notice how the inner muscle is a bit lower on the gastrocnemius (calf muscle) and dont forget all the bony landmarks of the malleolus, the inner bone is higher.

The shin of the leg is an exposed tibia bone (go ahead, touch and feel the bony creepiness of your shin) and muscles of the upper leg sort of gather around the 'tuberosity of the tibia' (landmark) there are a lot of ligaments holding everything together there.

Bonus fact: Saying Gluteus Maximus draws a grin on children and adults faces alike.
