Appearance & Physique:
Most of Topaz features comes from his mother. He has inheritated the thick, soft fur and ear tufts of the Ragamuffin breed and continues to be quite the little fur ball. The siamese gene from his father has clearly showed up on Topaz with his face mask as well as the colored ears, limbs and tail. Levi's orange color and stripes have also been passed on. His slowly growth in height indicates that he most likely won't grow to be his father's height but closer to his mother's. He's got two tiny braids as well, a request he made to his mother before leaving for Fire Tribe.

Acessories: Three cast iron bangles, one with three gemstones (topaz) embedded in. Gift from his parents, crafted by Kintsu.

Personality:

Summary
Proud and cocky, he's a cat who likes to get things his way and is very needy for confirmation. He's growing to be slightly less playful than he was as kit but he can still be quite hotheaded in some situations. While he may seem to be a lot of work to keep calm, it's actually very easy to keep Topaz pleased. And even if he's quite the 'high horse', he's not unkind and does care about those around him. Eventually, as he grows, he'll hopefully calm down more.

Meticulous
As he grows, Topaz has yet to lose his almost obsessive need to keep his fur neat and clean. He's still very meticulous about his appearance and absolutely hate getting dirty. Anything gross or disgusting-- be it a thing or the looks of another-- will cause him to wrinkles his nose in disgust and earn the person a ranting or two, at the least he'll keep his distance and not say anything. He has dropped some of the excessive properly and courtly acting he did as a kit but still does his best to look regal and graceful, both in the way he walks and talks. Although he knows how to behave right, sometimes his emotions gets the better of him and drops the act pretty quickly.

Proud
Topaz is still a firm believer that his family is of higher class and that they are better than plenty of others. He doesn't flaunt with it as much but he's certainly proud of who he is and his family, even though there are plenty of faults with his littermates. He believes he deserves things more than others because of his mother and that there are many who should definitely look up to him. He's pompous and flamboyant and knows he'll grow up to be a great cat. He's a proud peacock.

Emotional
As regal and proper he tries to act, Topaz can easily fall to his emotions and they are usually very strong, whether it be joy, anger or sadness. He's very, very bad at hiding it and even if he tries-- which he will in many cases-- one can easily see when he's upset. His emotions are rarely ever dull or muted, they are a strong force kept in a tiny body. They are excessive, often exaggerated, perhaps even uncalled for, and fluctuate heavily. But while they may be that, and while Topaz can easily hold a grudge, it's not too hard to cheer him up.

Stubborn
He can be pretty dead set on things and it certainly varies between what. All from being totally determined to finish smithing something, to being totally determined to NOT finish smithing something because 'it just won't work and it's stupid'. He absolutely hates admitting when he's wrong. Even if truth is staring him straight in face, Topaz will find it incredibly hard to confess or admit that he was wrong. He may still do it, but it's humiliating and he'd rather just avoid it completely. Cat's pointing out or questioning things that he might find embarrassing or such will recieve the same kind of response. He's a bad liar and knowns it, which is why he'd rather not answer at all. No reply means he doesn't have to admit, even if it also means he's not denying it either.

Insecure
He may act all high and mighty, might seem proud and totally certain with himself, but deep down he's pretty insecure about things and though a part of him does think he's greater than many others, there's another that uses his cocky behavior as a cover to hide his insecurites. Sometimes they are visible in forms of anger and jealousy. Having to share his mother with the adoptive siblings was, for example, not something that Topaz liked at all. He cares way too much what other cats might think of him, or at least wants them to think he's great, and this is where most of his insecurites comes from.

Needy
With his insecurity, Topaz continues to be very needy. He can be very demanding with praise and love, confirmation that those he love still loves him. It's not that he will straight out tell someone to satisfy his needs but he can end up cranky if he doesn't get the confirmation and such that he needs. He doesn't take too well with critics meant to him either and likes getting things his way, if he doesn't he'll be quick to start brooding about it. Not only demanding and high-maintenance, Topaz can get very, very jealous as well, even about the simplest things. He is possessive about the things that are his and is not too fond of sharing.

History:

I am New
The second litter of Lyra and Levi came to the world at the end of the Cosmic War that had ravaged the skies. Four odd little kittens, two girls and two boys, one among them being Topaz. The start of his childhood was nothing special-- if you disregard the fact that there were no Spirits, powers or tattoos anymore. Topaz was happy and content being in Water Tribe with his parents and littermates, quickly taking after his mother on many things. He was happy to be loved, happy to play, and not so happy when they had to move to Light Tribe when they were five moons old.

The kit had, of course, been fine with sharing his parents with his siblings, they were family and he loved them, of course they should get all the care that he did! But suddenly sharing his mother with three strangers, three out of five kits that had lost their mother, was not something that he took well and jealousy held a strong grip around him. He didn't grow close to either of them, mostly because he made no effort.

Then the anger and jealousy that he had for being there turned to fear. A few weeks after they had arrived to Light, Topaz left the nursery, curious to see more outside, and ended up seeing a bloody and badly wounded cat staggering into the camp. The sight frightened him so much that he passed out, fainted. When he woke up next to his mother, he became frantic with fear as he realized he was still in Light and pleaded to be taken back to Water Tribe. She was able to calm him down but from there on out, he never really left the nursery.

I am Fire
Then the gathering was suddenly there and Topaz was very happy to leave Light. The proud kit was also certain that he'd get a tattoo of Water seeing as both his parents had such, surely he of all would get one as well. The Spirits had different plans and he was sent alone to Fire. It was painful to not be sent to Water, but it was even more painful to be sent away from his sister Citrine. He was closest to her out of all the siblings, suddenly not having her there beside him was heartbreaking.

Angry and brooding, he said his goodbyes and once he reached his new home felt incredibly alone and scared.

Pounding and dragging her down, pulling at her towards the sleep but the sleep only yielded nightmares. A distant voice, a strangers name yet it was her name, someone was calling for her. Blinking, Yin turned her head towards the source and met the emotionless face with an equally blank expression herself. The blue eyes were open but there was something weary in her gaze. Her eyelids would ever so often flicker as if threatening to cave in. The first night in Shadow Tribe had been hard for the new apprentice, not only because she had been so distraught for not getting her wings, but because everything around her was so unfamiliar and nothing of what she liked. To live in the ground, so far inside the dark caves and so far away from her beloved sky... it did not sit well with Yin. She had been anxious during the night and the few times she actually had fallen asleep she had been plauged by nightmares, causing her to wake up once again.

Her mind felt slow, like someone had dripped honey in it, and it was difficult to connect thoughts to each other. To make it coherent at least. So when the stranger towering above her had spoken, Yin had a hard time taking it in. Seconds ticked by as she her mind worked to remove the fog and find something to say and eventually, after a long pause, she slurred out "Huh...?". Unsteady the kit sat up, wobbling slightly in her position and blinked once more towards the older cat. First now did she notice the odd eyes of the other, blue and yellow. Sky and sun. She loved them quite instantly. The word mentor seemed to vibrate in her mind though, like an echo. She wondered why. "...Mentor?"
