This photo was taken by Kenji during Anime LA 2011, nearly one year ago. Its been really popular on his DA page, and since the hits have died down a bit now, i guess i'll finally upload it to mine. He has some amazing photography work that he puts a lot of time and effort into so, its definitely worth taking a look at.
I guess with the release of a new trailer during the Spike Video Game Awards, i wanted to upload this onto my DA page finally. Hehe, Platinum Games, hmm, they worked on Bayonetta and Devil May Cry so, this should be pretty interesting.
Theirs so much wear and tear on the cosplay that I retired it after SDCC 2011. That and getting bigger didn't help on a form fitting cosplay, lol. I'm not sure if i'll attempt at a repair/remake of it, but i guess its possible. Use some better techniques the 2nd time around.

Hello! What material did you make the suit out of?
Just a spot of research. It looks like leather, but it's stretch isn't it? What is it?

its actually vinyl that has been adhered to craft foam using 3m super 77 spray adhesive. It doesn't really have much stretch so its pretty uncomfortable.

I've honestly not come across those materials before when working with skintight :S
I wonder if stretchy latex or something would work for it, or leather. Whatcha think?

well, i've also used spandex glued to foam before too, for my nightwing outfit. It still doesn't have that much stretch. Superhero outfits in my opinion are pretty impractical

Ooo! Isn't spandex the stretchy still that they make sports wear out of?? I would have thought that stuff would have been super ideal for making body suits

Hehe, it was pretty fun to make, except for the stitching part since i didn't have a sewing machine at the time. Kind of sad i had to retire it since it has too much wear and tear and i don't really fit it so well anymore. I'm half tempted to remake it a little better but at the same time, i'm not sure.

I've said that with half of my costumes. "I'll fix and finish it later"...years later, nothing has happened and they costumes are just dusting in my closet...LOL I think the only one I really go back and revisit is Terra. I should finish up the sword that goes with the outfit...but my prop skills are a bit lacking...so hopefully this isn't a complete failure when I attempt it during my break. >__<;

with news of MGSRising being developed by Platinum games who did Bayonetta it's funny cause you've cosplayed as a male version of bayonetta. game lookes tight, but I just want to play it now lol

hehe, the game does look pretty interesting. Way different from the rest of the Metal Gear franchise. I'm kind of looking forward to it since its probably going to be ridiculous fast pace action like Bayonetta.
