                                          -  Chapter 1 -

                                              Sad Soul

Night was ahead, the moon had risen over the rainforest mountains.
Tazinia was the name of this mysterious land and like no other was filled with strange and exotic creatures, and most of the species were half person, half animal which are called anthros.
There was a very old but very beautiful castle like palace hidden within the tall mahogany trees surrounding and shading it.
The palace was very well camouflaged, you could barely see it.
Their were no lights on only one glooming out of the highest tower.
The palace had many unfixable cracks in the walls and looked like it had been abandoned and never had it been fixed or dun up.
The owner was in the highest tower, standing on the balcony looking up at the stars.
The owner was a wolf-like person with brownish grey fur and had really sharp claws which could do a lot of damage, also he was wearing a cloak and a pair of leather trousers.
The wolf like person was a quoll and was and anthro so he walked on two legs and was half human, half animal.
Round his neck he had a velvet strap and connected to it there was an amulet, It was gold and very beautiful, in the middle of it was a black lightning bolt going diagonals across it.
The owner was wearing a shoulder plate on his left arm which had his name engraved on it, it said Lisha which was his name of the owner.
The quoll history was a very harsh one, wars had been raiding on for years with them, they tried to survive and live on, but their hole species is just down to the last two.
Lisha turned and walked into the room which had the balcony, inside their was not much just the palace walls but further along their was a cradle.
Lisha slowly walked towards the cradle a put his hand on the bar and with the other hand stroked the baby that was in the cradle with the smooth edge of his claw then stepped back.
‘sofear, you will be queen’ a tear ran down lisha’s face and lisha closed his eyes shut, ‘I promise’ the baby in the cradle was lisha’s only daughter and was called sofear.
One of lisha’s top guards amrus dingo walked into the room quietly and placed his hand on lisha’s shoulder.
‘I-is everything ok lisha?’ lisha did not say anything just stayed as still as a stone ‘our last troop has fallen to the dark emperor, I don’t think we can hang on for much longer’ lisha’s head faced the floor, lisha was looking at his amulet ‘no, we still have hope’ amrus slowly nodded then stopped ‘what are your orders, sir?’ lisha turned to amrus ‘I want you to tell the others that you must all get away from here’ amrus looked at lisha suspiciously ‘but, what about you and sofear?’ lisha turned away again and walked into a shadow, ‘where not coming, you have protected us well and I thank you, but now you can’t help us anymore, if we come it will just put you in danger’ amrus felt sorrow for lisha and sofear ‘then if I must I shall, I bid you farewell’ lisha did not say anything, amrus took one last look at lisha and princess sofear and creped out of the room and down the stairs.
Lisha stepped onto the balcony again and looked down, he could see amrus giving his orders and all the last dingo troops and amrus lined up in front of lisha and kneeled down before him and held their spears up high.
Amrus was in front of them all and spoke first out loud ‘to lisha and sofear!’ the other dingo troops said the same and marched out of the palace and as far away as possible.

Lisha looked  over the balcony towards the rainforest which surrounded them and covered long distances of Tazinia.
It was very quiet without the dingo guards and without protection lisha and sofear were sitting targets to the dark emperor but still lisha went on with his order of the guards evacuated the palace.
Lisha wasn’t sure what was going to happen but he had a feeling he might not see the sun rise again.
Lisha tried to enjoy the night as much as possible and be relaxed, he looked up at the stars which were glowing brightly and saw Libra in the Nuren North sky which cheered him up a bit. Libra was sofear’s star sign and Leo was lisha’s star sign, Leo was shining in the Suis Southern sky quite close to Libra.
Seeing the stars always makes lisha happy like an old quoll told him ’if you ever feel sorrow or lonely always look at the stars and you’ll see what I mean’  lisha thought of that sentence quite often and it never left him, but that happiness seemed to disappear, lisha could feel a strange breeze hit his face, something was wrong.
Lisha got up from leaning on the balcony bar and looked around to see if anyone was close by, seconds later a bright burning light like a commit came crashing down from the night sky, whatever it was it wasn’t good.
It made lisha freeze still, he could see the commit crashing into the rainforest further along the land catching everything near on fire, all the rear  mahogany and lion fig trees and hundreds more. Lisha knew his worst dread had become reality.
‘he’s found us!’ lisha turned and ran straight towards sofear who was still asleep, lisha took one more look at sofear sleeping and gently picked her up from her cradle and looked over the edge of the balcony whiles holding sofear tight in his hands.
‘There’s only one way’ lisha looked at sofear and then looked back at the burning rainforest, lisha’s eyes became from glum to anger and he sprinted across the room and dived straight of the balcony. Lisha’s eyes were gently closed, he was falling head first down the palace building.
He held sofear tight and kept her covered in her blue velvet blanket so she wouldn’t get cold of be woken up.
Lisha with his eyes still closed grabbed a grapple which was attached to the side of his trousers and held it in front of him, a few seconds later lisha’s eyes suddenly opened and flipped over so his back was facing towards the ground and threw the grapple which attached to a stone dragon on the side tower of the palace.
Lisha and sofear were no longer falling but swinging on the grapple rope, lisha slowly let more and more line out so they would swing vertical downwards tell they hit ground level.
As lisha was holding onto the rope he looked over to the burning forests behind them, the light of the fire glowed on lisha’s face as he looked at it in sorrow and shock that a rare part of his kingdom was burning away.
The rope lisha was holding onto was running short but lisha was close to the ground level so her leaped off the rope and landed perfect on his feet slightly apart and his free hand, lisha yelped but made no sound to the fact he twisted his right ankle as he landed on the ground but he didn’t make too much of a fuss about it and carried on running, away from the blazing forest fire.
Slightly limping lisha jumped over fallen down loges and across rocky slopes and cliffs with trees branched continuously hitting him in the face.
Lisha looked down at sofear as he was running, seeing if she was ok, she was still asleep but her hand stretched out a bit from her blanket towards lisha.
Lisha wrapped her blanket around her more to keep her secure and not fall out of his grip and so she won’t get hit by any branches coming towards her.
Lisha turned his head to see what was behind him, he could see fire balls shooting to all directions.
Lisha came up to a small stream which lead to opal lake, the stream shined a beautiful light blue colour and reflects the blue light onto trees nearby, it reflected on lisha and sofear so they looked a blue colour.
Lisha stood still and stared at the stream, the light of the fire could not be seen from the lake so lisha knew what he had to do, he sat down on the forest floor and got sofear but kept her in her blanket and kissed her on the cheek.
Sofear’s eye opened a tad, her eyes where light blue like lisha’s eyes, sofear didn’t wake up though she just closed her eye again and fell back to sleep.
Lisha unclipped his purple silk strapped charm and held it up and wrapped it round sofear and placed the charm in her blanket so it wouldn’t fall out, ‘sofear, it belongs to you now’
Lisha lifted sofear up and saw a peace of driftwood in the shape of a bowl floating down the stream.
Lisha leaned over to pull the driftwood ashore, lisha slowly placed sofear on the driftwood, she wouldn’t fall out because of the woods bowl like shape and it had good buoyancy to stay up right.
Lisha looked very sad but held on to it, he pushed sofear’s raft out to get the streams currant and soon drift away, ‘you will turn the tied of this war and restore peace to our land, I know you will fur fill the prophecy’ lisha watched as sofear drifted down the stream and stood up with a tear running down his face ‘goodbye sofear’ lisha took a deep breath and ran further into the forest with the tear still running down his face and the fire catching up with him.
