Oh god finally > I have finally finished this drawing, oh thank goodness. Gave Gaster a cool coat because he wouldn’t wear a lab coat (gives him bad vibes~). I have thought of different things about this AU, but I have just forgot about basically everything so I’ll try to write here what I remember.

Relationships:

Sans: He is the one who tortures Gaster basically, they don’t really have a relationship to begin with (not even before the plate). He doesn’t actually feel that much guilt over the torture because he only cares for Paps in the game canonically but I do feel like he wouldn’t last as long as Gaster did. He has a deep conflict with the fact that Papyrus is involved in his experiment and that Gaster and Paps look almost identical.

Papyrus: It gets very very rough and messy. Betrayal from part of Papyrus. Before the plate, Gaster and Papyrus got along very well with Gaster being happy with his presence and Papyrus getting attached to Gaster very quickly. Papyrus wouldn’t be there when Gaster got his plate but when Gaster sees how Papyrus doesn’t do anything to stop his brother he feels betrayed. Gaster thinks at first that Papyrus is a coward(he isn’t wrong tho), but after the beam incident Gaster blames himself for thinking that Papyrus was fond of him when Papyrus had Sans and for trusting anyone in his life because he should’ve known that he was alone the entire time. Poor Gaster, he really can’t get angry at anyone but himself.

Asgore: A pseudo father-son relationship. They’re even closer in this AU than in the original Handplates. Gaster doesn’t admit it but he does like the affection that Asgore gives him. Their dynamic is almost identical than the original AU, so I don’t really have anything to say. Asgore is a little more protective and constantly checks on Gaster’s health. When Gaster has any problems he tends to shut down and hide his issues from everyone, but Asgore always finds about them and does anything he can to make Gaster feel okay.

Alphys: They would have an almost sibling relationship. Alphys tries to be a good example with Gaster(inevitably failing but Gaster appreciates it nonetheless). Gaster is the assistant of the Alphys. Very likely that Gaster would find out about the amalgamates, and tries to help Alphys in anyway he can. Alphys tends to worry too much about Gaster, especially since she found out about all the scars and strange behaviors of Gaster. Gaster wishes Alphys and Asgore could leave him alone from time to time and treat him like a normal person. She is the one who cares for the health of Gaster, doing checkups, etc.

Undyne: She is like an older sister to Gaster. With her very energetic and chaotic personality, she contrast a lot with Gaster, but that’s something they both don’t mind. They constantly train together, cook together and play the piano together. Undyne makes Gaster feel like he is strong, like he isn’t weak. Undyne always stands up for Gaster and always tries to cheer him up. She constantly gives Gaster compliments and tips. She makes Gaster feel better when they hang out. Undyne doesn’t know about the horrible mental and physical health of Gaster, but don’t worry she’ll know soon.

Flowey: uff… it’s complicated. Gaster is Flowey’s favorite character. Between the indefinite resets, Gaster’s relationship with Flowey varies. In some, he doesn’t trust the flower, in some he does. Very obscure how that would work out, so I’ll just keep it a secret for a while.

Toriel: For Gaster, she’s the lady from behind the door. He makes a promise with her that he’ll not harm any humans. They don’t know anything about each other. That’s it, nothing else.

Problems that I can’t resolve:

How is Gaster going to address the brothers? Because in HP, they address Gaster as ‘He’, but how will Gaster address them individually? I thought that maybe by their names because Sans and Papyrus wouldn’t address each other as ‘Brother’ but that doesn’t work.

How will Gaster single-handedly push both Sans and Paps to the core? I thought that maybe he pushes Sans first and Papyrus grabs Gaster then when he proceeds to use blue magic to save his brother, Gaster pushes him, like a betrayal… it is so awkward to imagine it, and so awkward to put it in words, oh god.

The brothers’ interactions with the royal family, were they adopted like Gaster? I’d think that they took care of each other alone, but that doesn’t work. Do they just leave the family to live on their own?? Would Sans be attached to Asgore? NO, would Papyrus be attached to the goat parents? YES but… Idk, someone help.

How would the confrontation of the void be like? Would Gaster really want to have the brothers in his house? I’m still figuring it out, it isn’t as complicated as the other issues tho.

Would Gaster understand determination font? Because Gaster speaks Wingdings in the original AU, the brothers speak it too, but it doesn’t work here(literally why). Skeletons can understand each other’s cypher, but skeletons with cyphers cannot speak in another font but skeleton without it Can speak a cypher. Technically the fonts of Sans and Papyrus are understandable to the monsters, so would Gaster understand it after the brothers fall down the core? Who knows.

Oh god, I think because of those issues I haven’t written any chapters, so bear with me pls.
