Description
Oh, the brother I hadWe shared a face - he held my hand,
his body wrapped around mine as
we swam
frog legged laughter, mer people
living in the salty grean sea
I'd dress him up in our father's coats
and invite him
to Tea, with me
I liked to imagine him my little Perusian loverboy,
and I
A fair French maiden
Oh, the brother I had
He loved to taunt me,
He'd grow tall and muscular,
and then he'd look down to me
I laughed. "right, kid."
And then we buried him with
his
barbed-wire smile
and I wished,
how I wished
he would look down to me.

Another moving poem, this time of the year must hit you hard. Is there anything in your life you ever think about? It's good to remember him, and miss him, and I don't think we ever really get over these things, but don't let it consume you.

I'm not. He wasn't my brother, to clarify - I did this poem from one of his sisters' perspective. "This time of year"....it's just the five month anniversary, and tomorrow is going to be his first birthday dead.
I do understand that - it's not consuming me. Actually, I am surprised - it doesn't get less painful, but it honestly does become more acceptable. What else can we do, right?
Thank you for the comment, I truly appreciate your comments.

No problem at all, you're a talented poet, I just hope one day you find a happier subject, but never forget this one.
