Description

I'm very happy to announce, that I'm throwing everything into the air and attempting The White December! Am EXCITE   But also means I have some images that needs to be done to qualify Inga and Ranec, this being one of them. It's quite blasphemous that I haven't drawn Inga with a hunting rifle yet, but TBF she's still relatively new in harpg i3jrtg And I simply couldn't help myself by making this a bit more special by turning it into a comic XD AND naturally, I took the opportunity for some more story-telling  And who dis? Side-characters? ...maybe XD We shall see

Story:

It came as a shock to no one that Inga was very relieved to be back home to familiar, quiet surroundings after Lights on the Beach. But she couldn’t quite settle down when she got back. The event had left her with a lot to contemplate, not to mention a lot of pent-up emotions. More than the usual load of pent-up anger, she carried around inside. So, after she dropped Ranec off at the stables, got their things in order again and had some food, she went straight to the shooting range. Target shooting was one of her primary sources of getting outlet and clearing her head. This particular facility was one she had found while researching the area. It met her needs; it was within a reasonable driving distance of her cabin, it was a small family-owned business with a hunting shop attached to it, and it wasn’t smack bang in the middle of the city. Most of the members had gone to the range for years, which meant she didn’t have to deal with a lot of new people all the time either. But it also meant she stuck out like a sore thumb in the beginning. Being a small family business, everyone knew everyone, so naturally, they were very curious and eager to get to know new faces. And it was no exception with Inga. However, she wasn’t one for conversing and kept to herself for the most part. A lot of friendliness and politeness were often suspicious in her eyes. She quite frankly didn’t believe in these kinds of qualities and found them potentially deceitful, if anything. Most people at the shooting range had already learned to keep their distance, but some didn’t let themselves deter, much to Inga’s dismay. One of the owners, Ernest L. Cameron or Ernie as the regulars called him, was particularly good at letting her standoffish nature bounce off of him. The guy was a typical older dad with grey hair, a beer belly and a knack for dad jokes. He worked the members with his overwhelming charisma, laughing up a storm with them. Sometimes his roaring, guttural laugh could be heard from the parking lot outside. Safe to say, Inga wanted as little to do with him as possible.
As she opened the door to the hunting shop, the familiar bell rang above her head, announcing her arrival. Fortunately, Agni was concealed, because there Ernie was, sitting behind the front desk, smiling as usual.
“Ms. Lund, how nice to see ya again,” He exclaimed warmly and smiled at her. She walked up to him and gave him an absentminded nod.
“Mhm,” She just let out, very much not in the mood for this type of energy today. She rarely was.
“Not so talkative today, are we?” He continued, chuckling a bit to himself. Inga just shot him an unamused look. His jokes never sat well with her, but she suspected he amused himself more than anything.
“Just hand me the damn target paper,” She said, slightly annoyed.
“Yes, Ms. Lund, one coming right up,” He saluted her and slid her a target paper over the counter. She took it and quickly walked towards the outdoor shooting range next door.
“Don’t blind the others with your brightness now,” He said to her back as she left. The following loud, deep exhale from her elicited another belly-holding chuckle from him. She rolled her eyes. Fucking Ernie.
She reached the range, and Ernie’s wife, Brielle M. Desjardins, a hardy, petite woman with greying, dark brown hair, came into sight. Brielle was generally quieter than her husband but sometimes seemed to join in on his shenanigans. Inga often saw her out on the range when Brielle was out there keeping an eye on things. They nodded to each other when Inga passed her and found a spot to set up. She put her ammunition on the table beside her, walked downrange to set her target up when the opportunity arose and then walked back to her spot. Preparing to shoot came naturally at this point. She put her earplugs in and effortlessly got into position, wrapped the rifle strap around her left arm, took her shooting stance, raised the rifle, aimed at the target and loaded it with the first bullet, all with precise movements and nothing amiss. She looked at the target and noted a breeze coming from her right. Then she looked down the sight, aimed and fired. The bullet landed a bit too far to the left for her liking. She winced slightly and loaded another bullet. The following shots got gradually better, although some were not quite as close to bull’s eye as she would have liked. It was important to her to keep her skills sharp and dusted off. Especially since there was a weeks-long endurance event coming up in a few months that she wanted to participate in, and it might entail hunting on the route. She had initially heard about it at Lights on the Beach and was immediately intrigued. It sounded right up her alley, so here she was, preparing ahead of time. Hopefully, she could get Ranec’s prepared for it as well.
