Espilce, my latest work, which I started for NaNoWriMo, has a whole chapter about merpeople. A friend was confused to read that once, many years back, pirates devastated the the seas, took mermaids with them and forced them into their beds.

It so happens that my mermaids are a bit different from the traditional kind. Why would mermaids try to seduce the sailors if they couldn't, really, do anything with them?

This drawing is probably going to make it to the final "cover", but for now I wanted to upload it as part of 2008.
