Description The robot undressed her and pushed her, semi-conscious, into the stasis tank, whose field formed up around her like glass. Her vision darkened slowly to nothing. The unit moved up the narrow corridor, to the chamber where her unit would be stored.

Daz Studio with iRay, quite a while in render, I dunno, maybe a few hours? I let the bastard go overnight, because I don't seem to have the settings down yet, and the new video card doesn't seem to be any faster than its predecessor. It seems, perhaps, to be slower to get things done.

Hiya, it came with a set which was called "Containment", or something like that- there are a few different chambers. I think the artist who made 'em is Coflek Gnorg? (Not certain about that spelling!)

Well, she's been put into stasis against her will, but it's better than the alternative!

There are an awful lot of reflective materials in here. That might cause your video-card to bend on its knees.
And it's an enclosed environment, where rays can bounce around like forever without getting tired.
The point is: It looks great as a result

Ha ha! Thank you! And you're right; I was just hoping that the new card wasn't so knee-bendy!

well, when I got my new computer (which in compare to the old one was a quantum jump, really), I was blown away how fast it could render things.
Now I got used to it and: I am building more complex scenes with stuff that I hadn't dare to use before.
And guess what: If I'm not paying attention, I'm back to my old rendertimes

Thanks! I'm just shaking down the new system, so lots of shiny things on show to see how the new video card handles it.

Great image! (Does the glass has any volumetric settings applied? From the looks it seems not but it could be the reason for your long render times in combo with the mesh lights only)

Thanks! No, there's no volumetric in play, I think that it's as you say- mesh light only, and heaps of reflection.
