So I'm taking some lessons in illumination and volume. This is an exercise I did last monday.

I've started choosing this www.tonigarrn.com/img/gallery/… random fashion beauty pic with shiny skin, as illumination reference, then:

1. Quick sketch

2. Using the reference picture, I used the color picker to place greys on a new layer. I avoided using absolute white and black.

3. Added details until you can actually see a face, then delete the sketch lines layer.

4.I've merged the layers then liquify.

5. More details... which actually means do all over again but using a smaller brush, lol.

6. Using Hue/saturation, with the colorize square marked on, I've added some color. Then using replace color, I've changed the shadows to a purple tint and the high lights to a very light cyan.

7. Added an overlay layer with some extra colors, like the lipstick red and some yellow around.

8. I've used the same brush until this stage. Here i've added some freckles and texture in the skin with a multi-dot-shape brush, and made the hair and mickey hat with a random brush, just because I didnt like her bald.

That's all. Here is the finished piece with some post production (just sharpness, grain and color fringing, lol)

It took me like 4-5 hours on ps, and I've put everything I've learned from my b̶o̶y̶f̶r̶i̶e̶n̶d̶ teacher so far.
