Chapter 3: Howler Catchers

Late at night, in the Pupununu Village, Tak was in his room fast asleep until he heard a noise outside that caused him to wake up, feeling startled. He peeked out the window, but quickly ducked back down.
"It's him." Tak whispered in fright. "It's Howler Juju…I just know it."
He held the back of his head in fright and bit his lower lip with his eyes tightly shut. But he opened his eyes a second later when he remembered Jimmy's words, 'We can't just let something that dangerous be on the loose.'
Then SpongeBob's words from earlier rang in his head, 'We can't? Oh!'
'Too bad you're afraid of an overgrown dog.' Jeera's words echoed in his head also.
Tak then hopped out of bed with a determined look on his face. "No…As the village's shaman and Nicktoon Agent, I will bring this howler down no matter what.

Soon, Tak was walking outside around the village with his staff held out. But unlike earlier, he was shivering in fear with his teeth chattering.
"Come on, Tak, you can do this." Tak said to himself nervously. "Just find the howler and send him away."
Tak wandered around the village, but was unknowingly being watched by something. He continued to walk around in the dark, but stopped when he heard snarling.
He slowly turned his head around, but saw nothing behind him. "Well, I guess nothing's out here." He said with a shrug. "Can't say I didn't try."
Tak started to walk back, but stopped when he heard the growling again. He yelped in fright and started running in the opposite direction to get away from what he thought was a howler. He climbed up a tree outside of the village and shakily held onto the branch.
"There's a howler out there, I just know it." Tak whispered in fright. "Well, at least he can't get me from all the way up here."
But just then, the branch he was on started to snap until it broke off completely and he fell on the hard ground.
Tak groaned in pain as he sat up. "Ugh…That wasn't right."
From behind the tree, something began to approach Tak from behind. The shaman heard the snarling and turned around to see what was behind him.
"It- It's you." Tak stammered in fright as he backed away while still on the ground. "You're…a lot bigger than I thought you'd be."
The creature snarled, showing his sharp teeth which made Tak back away even more, but it did not stop the creature from pouncing on him, and pinning him to the ground to keep him from escaping.
"No!" Tak cried out as the creature moved its snarling mouth toward him. "No, don't eat me! AAAAGGGHHH!!!"

"Tak?" Jeera's voice called out from complete darkness. "Tak, wake up!"
A pair of pale-green eyes open up and Tak sat up, noticing he was outside in the village, laying on the ground. Jeera and Keeko were standing in front of him.
He groaned and held his head, "Ohhh…where am I?"
"We found you asleep outside." Jeera answered. "What were you doing out here anyway?"
"Don't know." Tak answered as he stood up and stretched his arms up while smiling. "But get this…" he whispered, "I ran into Howler Juju last night."
"What?" Jeera and Keeko both asked in shock.
"Yeah," Tak nodded excitedly. "I was about to get him, but I guess he knocked me out and escaped."
"Really…" Jeera asked in disbelief. "Then what happened to Tak the Wuss?"
"He's long gone." Tak answered proudly. "The new Tak just took on Howler Juju!"
But then they heard a loud scream and hear a female voice shout, "Help! We've been robbed!"
The three glanced at each other and Tak takes out his recaller. "I better call Jimmy and the others."
As he dialed his recaller, he held his left shoulder as if it was in pain from something.

Later that day, Jimmy, Timmy, Danny, and SpongeBob arrived and were informed by the village that something went into the village and stole some of the meat and one sheep. They along with Tak, Jeera, and Keeko had been interviewing anyone they thought might've seen what the thief looked like.
"So did you get a good look at what this thief looked like?" Jimmy asked as he and the Nicktoons stood from behind a wooden fence.
Linda the Sheep answered with a bit of nervousness in her tone, "Oh, not really. It was very dark. But he was really big and hairy, and had sharp teeth. He was also growling a lot like a wolf. Then the next thing I knew, Marcie was gone."
The Nicktoons gasped in shock at this, but did not notice Tak just leaning his head on the fence, staring at the sheep with his mouth somewhat watering and was biting his lower lip anxiously.
"Hey, Tak!" Jeera shouted as she punched Tak in the arm, getting his attention.
"Huh, what?" Tak asked, snapping back to reality.
"I think we can guess who's behind all this." Timmy said dully.
"Is it Howl-" Keeko was about to say until Jimmy covered his mouth.
"Don't say that name." Jimmy whispered. "We shouldn't cause panic…Especially around Tak."
"Howler Juju?" Tak finished with a sly smile.
At this, all the sheep shrieked in fright and barged through the gate, tripping Masked Guy in the process. The others glare at Tak afterwards, but he didn't seem to mind.
"I can't believe you just said his name." Danny said in a disappointed tone. "You knew it would freak them out."
"You're right, I shouldn't have done that." Tak said, now looking guilty. "I'm starving." But then he shook his head and put on an embarrassed grin, "Which is why we should go eat when we're done here, heh, heh, heh…"
"There you are." The Chief said as he approached them. "Have you children figured out who is that has stolen from my village."
"We did, but…" Jeera was saying nervously.
"It may come as a bit of a shock to who it was." Jimmy finished, equally nervous.
"Really?" the Chief said, looking interested. "Who was it?"
Tak easily answered, "Howler Juju."
"What?!" the Chief asked in shock as the other villagers within earshot gasped and run around screaming.
"Wait, guys, hold on!" Danny shouted, trying to calm everyone down. "He's not even here right now!"
"Did I hear correctly that the most dangerous Juju of all time has escaped?" Jibolba asked with a terrified look.
"Well, yeah, but…" Timmy was about to say until Jibolba grabbed him by his shoulders.
"Don't say his name!" Jibolba begged as he shook Timmy by his shoulders. "It will bring chaos to us all!"
"You mean Howler Juju?" Tak said nonchalantly.
At this, Log Hermit screamed loudly and ran away at fast speed. "Quick!" Jibolba shouted. "We must board up the windows and doors before tonight!"
"You five!" the Chief pointed at the Nicktoons. "I'm leaving you all in charge of finding that beast and keeping my village safe from that dangerous threat." Then he ran away screaming.
"Us take care of Howler Juju?" SpongeBob asked in panic which made some of the villagers scream and run. "But we'll be eaten by his big sharp teeth!"
"Relax, SB," Tak said, smiling largely as he slapped SpongeBob hard across the back. "There's nothing to be afraid of."
"Since when?" Timmy asked, raising an eyebrow. "Yesterday, you were crying about having to face a howler."
Jeera then mentioned, "That's because he supposedly fought You-Know-Who last night."
"No way." Danny said with his eyes widening in shock.
"You actually saw him?" Jimmy asked, shocked as well.
"Was he really big and scary?" SpongeBob asked Tak.
"Of course he was." Tak answered with a grin. "But he was actually much bigger and scarier than I thought he was."
SpongeBob shrieked and fell to the ground as Danny and Keeko lean down to see if he was alright. Jeera glared at him and asked, "Are you trying to make the guy feel better or make him wet his square pants?"
"Not sure. Whatever sounds funnier." The he suddenly punched Jeera in the arm, somehow knocking her to the ground.
The others gasp in shock, but Jeera just stood up, looking alright. "Wow Tak," she said in amazement as she smiled and punched him as well. "When did you get so strong?"
But Tak just smiled and shrugged.
"Okay, guys," Jimmy interrupted. "If we're gonna be on the look-out for someone like this, we're gonna have to come up with a way to capture him and get everything we need to be prepared."
"That's awesome." Tak nodded in approval. "There's bound to be something to beat Howl-" But Timmy and Jimmy cover his mouth to stop him.
"Tak, don't say that name." Jimmy whispered to him.
But Tak pulled Jimmy and Timmy's hands away and said aloud, "Howler Juju!" This of course caused all the villagers to scream in fear and run around.
"Tak, what's the big deal?" Timmy asked angrily. "Now you're just being a jerk."
"Don't know." Tak answered with a grin. "Just think it's fun to see everyone run away at the mention of someone as powerful as Howler Juju."
SpongeBob shrieked this time and was about to run away until Danny grabbed the back of his pants and stopped him. Tak strutted away and continued shouting, "Howler Juju, Howler Juju, Howler Juju!"
The Nicktoons stare dumbfounded at their friend's odd behavior until Jeera asked, "Want me to rip his mouth off."
"Actually, I think it would be better if we just take him out of here now." Jimmy weakly suggested. "We'll bring him back tonight when we search for You-Know-Who."
Danny pointed at Jeera and Keeko and instructed, "You two better stay here and…try to calm everyone down."
Then they heard a high-pitched scream followed by a crash. "We better go now." Timmy hurriedly suggested.
