Description
You wake up on the cold stone floor and pain strikes your legs, your arms, your face, your chest. You are lying in your own blood, and you feel numb and confused. You try to figure out where you are, but it’s dark, too dark to see - however you can remember following Leo. You talked to him, you begged him to take you with him.
This wasn’t his fault! It was yours, and the guilt you felt began to eat at you.
Your neck feels sore to high hell, and you slowly come to realize he knocked you out. He knocked you out! To keep you from following him. To keep you SAFE.
Your father is gone, he is truly gone. It’s hard to believe, but the pain in your neck is the proof. The gashes on your body is the proof. They remind you of the truth, that you are the one to blame for all of this. You deserve these wounds.
You feel this odd twisted gratitude to your brother for punishing you, but there is also a deep lingering hurt from being abandoned. You curse in pain and slowly pull yourself up, and your arms are shaking under your weight. You feel alive. Your hands find the wall, and you dig your fingers into the cold stone, you keep on going despite the fact your body constantly threatens to fail you.
You trip and you stop to catch your breath, you fall, but you drag yourself up again, again and again. You need to find him. You have a faint hope to find your brother, to ease him of his guilt, to go with him for a chance to atone for your sins. You bleed and bleed, and you keep going and going, until your legs give in, and you scream in despair, howling out your guilt and anguish as you realize hope is lost.
