Description
Ed Ricketts, the father of marine biology, had a tremendous Influence on me growing up. I found his Laboratory/Home yesterday while at Monterey Bay.[link]

One of my personal heroes. I always wondered what the lab looked like.
I almost feel the need to make a pilgrimage there.

Nice angle here. Interesting links. Jackson Benson no relative is he? Interesting life and friends he had.

No...Don't know him, but About Ed Ricketts in The Log from the Sea of Cortez by John Steinbeck is the best thing I have ever read. I think you would have had to read Ricketts book...I think it's called Between Pacific Tides...and have a background in marine biology for it to have the same profound meaning. But, anyone would enjoy it having read or seen Cannery Row.
