The local newspaper had some articles in their 'Get Out' series. The articles showcased places to go within driving distance of the City. There are places within walking distance here (okay...I'd take the bus). The point I'm trying to make is you have to be there for things like this to happen in front of you.

Granted... time is our enemy (at the moment) but allthough we've seen many deer, can't say we've seen deer with those wonderful ears & i'm sure we'd have remembered them

They are mule deer...I think they are called that because of their big ears. They are native to the area...even see them in the hills around here.

I think that's the reason they are called mule deer.
