Description
"Okay, okay, fine, I'll go through with it. But promise you'll undo it first thing tomorrow morning."Kane couldn't believe he was agreeing to this. He knew Indigo had done it a hundred times, but he also knew he was going to hate it all the same.
Kane was an anthropomorphic gray wolf with brown eyes and dark gray fur. His chest fur was a lighter gray with an unusual bright strip zigzagging from upper left to lower right (from an observer's perspective, not his). His hands and feet had black pawpads, and he stood digitgrade. He wore a brown pair of cutoffs, and a red bandanna around his neck. He also wore another similar red bandanna around his right ankle for no apparent reason other than so he'd be recognizable from the knees down. Other than that, he was unclothed.
Indigo led Kane into her "workroom". The room was dominated by what looked like a stainless-steel operating table, with a rolling pin resting in the middle of it. A number of other tools and instruments lined a few smaller tables nearby: a steam iron, a yardstick, a pizza cutter, a sewing machine, a supply of glue, all sorts of stuff. Anybody unfamiliar with Indigo's "hobby" would have almost no chance of figuring out what it was all for. Everything was perfectly clean and in prime condition.
"Alright, Kane, just lie down on the table there," Indigo instructed as she picked up the rolling pin. Kane reluctantly obeyed, knowing all too well what was coming next.
Ever so gently and with the precision of a surgeon, Indigo applied the rolling pin to Kane's legs and moved it up and down his body, gently flattening him to about a half-inch in thickness. His body gave easily to the pressure, as if it were made of dough. The procedure felt a little uncomfortable to the wolf, but didn't really hurt.
"Aaaaand there. All squished down."
Indigo put the rolling pin aside and took up the pizza cutter. Kane winced inwardly; he knew he wasn't going to like this part.
It stung. As Indigo gently sliced Kane's body in two at the waist, the wolf could barely think of anything besides how much the pizza cutter's application hurt. It didn't bleed, and the cut was quite clean, but it was still somewhat painful.
After about ten seconds (that had passed painfully slowly to Kane), Indigo put the pizza cutter down. The wolf was now in two clean pieces. It was a slightly odd sensation; he could only half feel himself from the waist down.
Now it was time for folding. Indigo gently picked up Kane's now-separate lower body and folded it in thirds one way, then the other way, making sure the result formed a rectangle. She then folded up his upper body in the same way. The feeling of Indigo's hands all over him made Kane rather uncomfortable, as if what'd already transpired hadn't been enough.
Once that was done, Indigo took up her rolling pin again and used it to smooth Kane out into two neat rectangles, then checked his new dimensions with the yardstick.
"Hmm... you came out a little small, so I'll have to stretch you out a bit."
Indigo brought the two folded halves of Kane to a pair of clamps mounted on the end of the table. She clamped one end of one half of him into place, then began to pull firmly on it, stretching it out like he was made of putty. She had to do it gently; she didn't want to tear him by accident. She then repeated the procedure with the other half of him.
As for Kane's feelings about being stretched, it straddled the line between discomfort and actual pain, often jumping between the two as the strength of Indigo's pulling varied.
Next, the steam iron. Indigo made sure the iron was ready to go, then pressed it down on Kane's body and began to iron him down. The iron was quite hot; Kane wanted to scream in pain, but couldn't due to his flattened state. The feeling was somewhat diminished when she was working on his lower half due to the separation, but still there.
After turning the iron off, Indigo picked up one corner of Kane's newly ironed upper body and examined it. The job was near professional; the wolf was indistinguishable by touch from normal fabric.
"Almost done, Kane. Just a bit of stitching and you'll be all ready."
Indigo carried the two pieces of ironed wolf over to the sewing machine, put one aside, and began her work on the other. She folded a few inches of Kane over near the top, then gently ran him through the machine to stitch the fold in place. Every stitch of the machine felt like a bee sting to him, but it was actually significantly more bearable than the iron, so he could relax a little.
She sewed both halves of Kane in just that way, then put them over her arm and took him out of the workroom, all ready to go.
Up in her bedroom on the second floor, Indigo took the empty curtain rod down from the room's single window, then slipped the two halves of Kane on, one by one. The sewn portion of him kept him firmly on the rod as she put it back up. The change in orientation left Kane dizzy at first, but he quickly recovered.
"You make a very nice set of window drapes, Kane, if I may say so myself. G'night. I promise I'll take you down first thing tomorrow."
Indigo quickly changed into her pajamas in the adjacent room (she wasn't the type of lady who'd do that in front of Kane), tugged the wolf-turned-curtains shut, and then carefully got into her bed and drifted off to sleep.
Kane had a bit more trouble falling asleep than Indigo did. Not surprising, since it's hard to feel comfortable when one has recently been rolled flat, cut in half, folded up, rolled flat again, stretched out, ironed even flatter, stitched up, and hung from a curtain rod.

So I've read most of the Kane series so far, and I started feeling guilty that I just kept moving from one to the next without commenting on any of them, so I've decided to go back from the beginning and give my thoughts on each, so expect a lot of comments.
This one's a good start. Very basic. The idea of a character having a workshop devoted to flattenings and TFs is very interesting. You describe the process very well, although I feel over emphasizing the pain the character is feeling robs the piece of much enjoyment. Toony gags like this tend to be funny because you don't imagine that they're really hurt, just slightly uncomfortable, but as a deconstruction, I suppose it works.

That sounds about in line with the rest of the comments I've gotten.

It's nice that you mustered the strength to admit sexual deviancy. It's not just hard to others, but yourself. There are so many artists that can't admit to themselves in that way. BUT to actually be on subject your story was very descriptive. It's a good thing Indigo can improvise with materials like that.

Very descriptive, although it makes me a little worry for Kane.

I prefer to tackle these things in a slightly more realistic way than most.

You described the sensations of Kane very well in this story. Indigo was at her best in fine tuning her craft on Kane. although, there wasn't a motivational tool to these different sequences but a good story none the less. You could put in a little story behind the reason for the flattening while she sleeps. By morning, it will all come out more clearer to whom ever reads the story. I'd like to see, or read, the restoration of Kane and if he learned a few tricks from his experience and to whoever gets in touch, or ahold of Indigo for a different experience she my face. . good story BTW.

Your grammar broke up a little near the end of that comment, so I couldn't quite understand what you were saying, but I get your message. These are mostly random one-shots, though, with little if any direct continuity between them.

different experience that she 'might' face. Oops! I have to work on my typing so I won't have too much typos.

Interesting all right! The description of sensations as Kane is flattened, cut, stitched, etc. are pretty good. The thing that I think is missing is a sense of motivation: we find out what he's been transformed into, but not why. Indigo doesn't appear to get anything out of it other than curtains for a single day (and the satisfaction of a job well done!). Kane admits to no other sensations than discomfort and pain, and so gets nothing positive out of the process at all. I think somebody is enjoying this or it's a pointless exercise.

Now that you mention it, I can see why motivation could be a tiny bit lacking here.

Well, this came out much faster than I thought it would!
It's a fairly well done little piece, all things considered. Honestly, I think you concentrated a little too much on the 'pain' side of things for it to reall be enjoyable for it's wackey-ness. If it really hurt that much, one has to wonder why Kane agreed to it.
Still, if nothing else, ~I~ liked it.

Well, you can tell that Kane was very reluctant about it. Who knows how Indigo convinced him to do it.

Hmmm, that IS true... still, I think the comedy of it can come across better with physical feeligs of uncomfortable wierdness rather than outright pain... that's a purely personal opinion, though.

Besides, if getting rolled flat, cut in two, folded up, etc., etc., wasn't painful to Kane, then what would be?

That list includes the application of a steam iron, which was the most painful part of the sequence.

I...wow. It must be my warped sense of humour, but this is awesome. Described in just the right way; matter-of-fact without being too riddled with Kane's emotions; limited to physical sensation. Good stuff, I like it a lot!

Actually, I was worried I'd gone too light on Kane's emotions, only describing how the whole process felt to him.

I must say that it wasn't what I was expecting. It was somewhat gruesome that Kane was turned into a pair of curtains, I actually would be surprised if they could turn him back. But... despite feeling sick about that... It's pretty good and very descriptive.

The thought of getting flattened, cut in half, folded up, flattened again, stretched, ironed and stitched. Although the lack of blood and the fact that Kane's not dead, makes me think that it's supposed to be comical.
