I was talking to the other day and somehow we got on to the topic of bacteria and how much I resemble a schizophrenic one. One moment, I'll be a friendly bacterium, helping my host(s) metabolise the starchy trials and tribulations of everyday life in the gut that is their mind; the next, I'll be a nasty pathogen, clawing blindly at their sanity.

Studying...man...AP Bio's evil. I have to focus on so much for one test that everything goes out of my brain to make room for the new stuff. xP
Binary Fission is where bacteria has one long strand of chromosomes instead of individual ones, and it basically replicates it and splits, creating daughter bacteria. Bacteria can also reproduce sexually with themselves (their chromosomes will take up DNA from the DNA plasmids inside them) or with other bacteria by swapping plasmids.
