I'm going to resist talking about this drawing in the hope that YOU will speculate more about it. Come on, speculate! Please? You know you want to.
Also, I'm certain I must have copied the composition from somewhere else (subconsciously, I assure you!) so if you can find me an image with a similar composition, I will doodle something of your choice for you.

The pose was really bothering me. Like =darthdwad03 said, the angel looked really floppy and lifeless. And n'yes, I gave in to PSP. But if it's an angel, it probably deserves a special, unmatching effect. Or does it?

it seems like that old story.. about abou ben adam i think that was his name, and his book on the best souls or something like that.. he doesn't write his own name.. and this angel comes n tells him to write his name down to... i've really forgotten how exactly the story went, i probably had it in my english reader in 2nd grade or something... very beautifully done tho!! great work!

yes the very same, i did it for english class when i was in 3rd or 4th grade. i guess that is the only similarity.... but thats what struck me as soon as i saw the picture.

i love the cross hatching and the limited colors, the angel really stands out.
my speculation. is that its the angel of a loved one that the person recently lost, and is coming back to visit him while he sleeps.
i wish i could go deeper then that but i'm kind of tired sorry lol

I'm quite scared, everyone seems to think the human is a boy. Perhaps I did not succeed in making an androgynous-looking person after all. =/ Oh well.

The boy is seriously ill and he's having a fit in bed. His Guardian Angel is watching over him and holds his hand, trying to calm him and tell him it's ok, even though it can't speak directly...

Here's my speculation: The young boy has a tramatic and life ending illness and on this day the Angel of Death has come to take the boy...but to his suprise, the boy is stronger than he expected. The boy fights death and is this slice of the fight he is winning...but did he?

I love how the light of the angel is reflected on the bed, and how the room sort of dissolves into the angel. Do you have a digital tablet or is this with a mouse or what? because it looks really... free I guess.

I think I need to do ICT and compose...!
With your dev, I don't really like the light grey surrounding the angel... unless that's supposed to be a dream bubble, hence the rounded edges... Umm... I think you need some more detail (white shading!) on the angel, the body's a bit flat, although the wings are amazing.

Is it the lightness you don't like or the roundness? Or its entire presence? I was thinking of doing 1-pixel line glowy stuff but I didn't want it to look too harsh... and now I've done a version with a glow on PSP... I think that gets a better balance of softness and glowyness... well, I'll put it up when it's done and we'll see. 
And damn you for finding so much to say! Now you've induced me to edit it loads and my eyes hurt! 
But--I refuse to shade the angel! Otherwise it'll look too real and solid and not different enough in style to the human. Plus I'm too dumb to figure out the white shading/highlighting.

No, it was me distracting myself by coming on dA!
Ooh! I definitely prefer the new version, the glow works very well indeed, it's softer as you said and flows more easily, like the grace of an angel. The pose is much better too. In that case, maybe if you made the outline slighty less bright so it's easier to see as 'holiness'!
