She woke up alone...

Calliope woke up in the late morning to find her room was rather cold. Her eyes, still drooping with sleep, would barely hold open as she crawled off of her small bed.
“Mirtar..” She called to her mother, her voice faint in comparison to the wind that blew through the windows. Yet there was no response..
“Fintar..?” Yet no answer came from her father either.. How peculiar. It wasn’t time for either of them to leave for work! So why weren’t they answering her?

Rubbing her eyes, Calliope stumbled into her parents room, jumping back slightly when she heard the sound of broken glass beneath her foot. She blinked and looked around, her parent’s room a mess. What had happened?
At eight years old, Calliope was unsure of where to go and what to do.. so she walked to the glass door and stood there, waiting for her parents to return.
They would come back... right?
