That's quite harsh but I guess it's fair. Trying new things makes it more fun! If you just change colors, hues, why do people use PS when there's picnik?

I felt bad writing it, but I'm actually tired of people doing this kinda thing and calling it art O_o'
Even with my Stock photo's I'm tired of people just changing the colour or hue of the picture then re-posting it.
I have tons of pictures of the same eye from MANY different people, but all that's changed is the colour of the iris.
Makes me go nutz!
Do SOMETHING with it, make it YOURS. Be DIFFERENT!

Why on earth would a deviation like this make you "go nutz." That's pretty bizarre. There are actually a lot of important things going on in the world!

I knew we were in for it when your "critique" started out: "Alrighty then, where shall we begin ?" (I guess that's the Royal "we" or did someone else with an attitude help you write the "critique"?)

With all due respect, being a smart a$$ and holier than thou is not the reason dA started this Critique thing. It is so that deviants could get constructive criticism. Your true colors show through so much that your "critique" is worthless. Why even write it then? All you did was embarrass and shame yourself.

Does it make you feel better now that it's out of your system? I certainly hope so because being jealous that someone gets more favs than you is no excuse to vent as you have. When you see an upload and you feel the need to snicker at it because you think you're better, that should be a clue to you that you should move on and not state your views. They are worth zero when you're that angry and biased.

You, as far as I know, are not the new arbitrar as to how many steps one is supposed to take in order to make a great manip. This deviant's work is very skilled technically, original and pleasing. Your deviations are gaudy. Not all of us love gaudy, overworked photos. This particular upload is very interesting and beautiful. Have you really looked at it?

This system is not set up for people like you to slam someone whom you're jealous of. But, don't worry, I'm sure he's now extremely sorry that he didn't "put more work into it" in order to please you!!!

By the way, if you would have tried to get to know Steel, you'd find out that he cares more about dA and about dA working properly than any other of the millions of deviants and also that he seems to be very serious about his hobby. So...you decide you have to come along and act like an idiot, in writing for all to see!

I know you didn't just kill someone but, really, how do you sleep at night? You are not a nice person, I'm sorry to say.

I agree with you Sandy. Steel is one of the only people around here who cares about tiny details and bugs with uploads.

As long as he is following the stock providers rules then it should not matter what he does with them.

Being mean like that is just wrong I'm just bothered how he would do so little to gain so much when others do more.
It makes sense, and you saying this to me only makes YOU look bad. You say and I quote "So...you decide you have to come along and act like an idiot, in writing for all to see!" Only you just did the exact same thing but even worse!
Steel took my crit, and he took it like all artist's should do, just like when I do when someone crits me, sometimes it good, sometimes it's bad, and one's things for sure is YOU obviously can't handle the bad. Even if it's not about you!
Steel can, He knew what I was talking about, as well as the rest of the people who agreed with me whole heartedly.
If you find my Deviations gaudy, I couldn't really care. I can take that into consideration, but.... Considering I never asked for crit... well now, your the one who's not being a nice person. I never said his picture was bad or wrong, or even ugly, I just thought it lacked in certain areas. Which it did, he even admitted so when he said "Ah, there it is, i honestly knew it would come one of these." He posted that deviation asking for a critique, knowing someone would prolly bring this up.
Steel ASKED for crit, which means he was asking for good and bad.
I wasn't angry, I wasn't jealous, I just thought it was unfair, and apparently others think so too. So for YOU to go all off at me (Angry and Biased in your views of steel) Your doing the EXACT same thing your accusing me of.

I am totally fine with statements people make about my work, as long as they are not trying to use my work as an example for a view they have on something, it has nothing to do with me, and that is obviously the case here.

Ah, there it is, i honestly knew it would come one of these.

I am not an expert at manipulation, but i do my best when i do them.
I used some layer masks and worked with the color individually.

Nothing extreme, guess a lot of people can do it, but i personally thing the transformation from the originals to this is big, although not technically huge.

If you search the manip category you find a lot of manips with less work than this in it, the thing that bugs you is that you think the time i spent on it does not deserve the amount of attention it gets.

You are welcome to think that, and i don`t judge you, just know that i do what i like, and sometimes it is complex, sometimes easy, it is all about the result for me.

It's not just the time you spent on it, it's what you did to the original photo's as well that bugs me. You say the transformation was big, not huge, and yet to me you did so little but you receive ALOT of recognition for it. Anyone could replicate the same thing you did with 2 other photo's and they would receive none to very little recognition for it at all. But because you have tons of watchers for being an awesome photographer you get more 's.

Many people work VERY hard on their manipulation's and to see you get recognition for such little work... Well it's extremely unfair it seems

If you use that way of thinking, that apply to all the artwork on deviantart.
there are a lot of snapshots that is extremely popular due to a lot people seeing the deviation.

I don`t think the amount of work is more important than the vision, and you should not be so quick to tell other people how they did things and what their idea behind it was.

if you want to be taken serious you should have a more objective and logical way to argument.

I never claimed that this was a complex manipulation that required cut-outs, but that does not mean that i don`t have a meaning behind it, or that it was planned.
stating that i just searched for some stocks is kicking down on my vision, and since i don`t do that to you, i don`t see why you should.

I thought it was ok with one opinion said, but when you keep on going you are overdoing it, that is why i put my foot down.
I said i understood and responded what i thought about it, you should simply said ok.
you are trying to make a statement that has to do with a topic above just this deviation, and it is not my battle.
