Yes the difference of the uniforms is for ranking purposes the black uniform is an officers parade uniform whereas the red is a troopers parade uniform, hope this helps! my boyfriend was a trooper and wore the red uniform on parade while riding the horses in front of the queen

Household Cavalry - Life guards I didn't know him at the time he was in the army though, he ended up being injured and had to give it up

Don't be sorry, one was an injury from being thrown of his horse and the other was while driving the tanks which completely messed up his back and I couldn't agree more! everything happens for a reason right?
