Description WORKING ON MAKING A NEW TUTORIAL! Here's a preview without the description~> [link]

**EDIT**
I no longer use this technique for my fur so please do not base any of my recent work on this tutorial <3

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You guys requested it so here it is…A FUR TUTORIAL~!!
WARNING this is a big file!
This is the first tutorial I’ve ever done so I’m sorry if things are unclear. Please don’t be afraid to ask any questions you may have~
More tutorials to come so keep a look out!
And if you do use this tutorial I would LOVE to see what you come up with! So please send a link c:
Programs I’ve used this technique in include Photoshop Elements 6, Paint Tool SAI, and shipainter in oekaki. However, I’m sure there are many other programs this will work in since only basic tools are used. Things you should consider before beginning is that I do use a tablet and rely heavily on pen pressure! So if you draw using a mouse this may be a bit more difficult for you.
Done in Photoshop 6
Character feautured in this tutorial is Voltage [link]
This tutorial is extremely helpful, especially since I don't need to color in an entire layer of furry lines.
THIS TUTORIAL IS THE BEST I HAVE EVER SEEN! Some of the tutorials i've tried and all seen, and they're either intimidating, the results don't come out right for me or not any wording and just pictures. This is so informative that I was able to follow each step and came up with great results (to me anyway) and I love it! Thank you so much for making this , i stayed up until 5 am in the morning working on pictures with your tutorial!!
i will tell you how i feel about this tutorial, because it is really amazing
Really, I have searched for a long time, for a fur tutorial that doesn't use the smudge tool, because i think it simply doesn't look so fine and nice
i haven't found one, but i got to your page by a link (your pokemon icons) and saw the bird pictures (which is somewhat hilarious and ironic because i try to study the bird a bit so that i can draw them better)
and searched for a tutorial in your gallery and found this
i am really happy and i'm gonna try it out, because your art is really amazing
thanks for making this
I hope you find it helpful >u<
Haha and yeah I've noticed the abundance of use centered around the smudge tool.
I've tried it out before but I can't really do what I like with it, it's so hard XD
This is very helpful! I wanted to ask, though, what's the water tool? o3o I use SAI too, and I don't see any water tool here.
In my version, I only have a water color tool. o3o
If that's not it, would you mind if you give me the settings so I could try it out? Thank you!
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
soulwithin465 In reply to PaperTay [2011-03-05 15:22:08 +0000 UTC]
PaperTay In reply to soulwithin465 [2011-03-05 23:08:47 +0000 UTC]
Yes! o3o I've heard that there are different versions, so maybe we have different versions. lD
Would you mind if I ask for the settings of your Water tool? o: I've been tweaking the settings for my version, and I seriously forgot the default ones. lD
Thank you! c:
FFF sorry for the late response >A<
Yeah I've heard that too! But I have no clue which version I have XD
Uhh lets see my water settings are~~
Min size: 52%
Density: 100%
Color blending: 0
Opacity mix: 0
Persistence: 25
(Keep opacity: checked)
Smooth Prs 43%
Not sure if these are default but I hope it helps~~
PaperTay In reply to soulwithin465 [2011-04-01 02:49:05 +0000 UTC]
And sorry for my very delayed reply.
I think those are default. :3 I shall use them for shading, thanks so much, this really helps! :3
Nice tutorial!
I was just wondering what you meant when you said "To start take the two darkest colors used for shading and around the areas where these two tones were used place individual strokes."
Thanks!
I hate drawing fur, it takes so long and never comes out good when I do it. This is helpful though, I might try it this way some time. C:
And what I really like is how at the end you add those white shines and the blue highlights, it really makes it look cool.
